Thanks everyone, it's a bit difficult with no thanks button anymore!
May have to rethink my day a little as DS's dad is incommunicado and I may have to wait until lunchtime to go out.
I've had a lovely start to the day so far, breakfast in bed and the complete series 4 of CSI from the kids. DH amazed me by buying me the ring I spotted in the jewellers window a couple of weeks ago, naughty boy spent far too much money on it but it's lovely!! And it's great to be so spoiled.
Have a great day everyone, the weather is lovely.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TOO YOU MOGGINS :bdaycake: Have a super day!
Hi to everyone else, I am glad to see that spirits are high here so far, must be because its the weekend! Those of you that are working I hope you get tomorrow off. Everyone deserves a break.
Pooky - I used my pizza hut cuopon last night in Ashford, be careful with the drinks, they have stopped the free refills and did not tell us, we only found out when they charged us for four drinks instead to two!! I will be wrieting them a nice letter to get my money back. The pizza was yummy though!
I am off to Canterbury today, I need to huy some birthday presents and some make up. I might get a new outfit too as I have a event in London soon. It won't be very OS i'm afarid but I will be taking lots if tios from the Boots thread on grabbit for my make up and one of the presents I need.
Breakfast - Coco pops
Lunch - Prop a bag of crisps and a bottle of water whilst out (will take with me)
Dinner - Something from the freezer
Well i'm off to write my list if barains to look out for. Have a lovely day everyone (oh yeah i'm gonna get a bottle of Star Drops from wilkos too!!)0 -
Morning everyone :wave:Hippy Burpday moggins
:bdaycake: :bdaycake:
Thanks for the reminder about Martin in jacuzzi, edilass, that's one of the episodes I missed last time. (However, despite my good intentions, I've never yet remembered to watch ona saturday afternoon :0)
I slept till 7.45 this morning - when DS2 appeared. I can't remember last time I slept so late, although I didn't go to bed until 1am. We've had a lazy start, having brekkie, playing I-spy and setting up his train set. I've just had a shower and am now resplendant in my robe, with wet hair
I had a manic day yesterday - too much to do and too little time. However, when I went in Boots to get Mr TM his mouthwash, I found it on 3 for 2, and triple points and also the digi camera I wanted was in the sale - so I bought it with my points :j :j I've had a quick play with it this morning so I can fire it up at DS1's party tomorrow. It will also be coming to Blackpool with me - so be warned:D
Gorgeous day here today and I had some washing in overnoght which I will hang out soon. BM has been on, DW is ready to switch on and then I shall go to Tesco for the last bits for the party. I will have to open up the summerhouse for the kids - much easier than having them maraud around the house and the inevitable spilt juice is easier to clean up(However, last year I remember one of the biggest spillages was from a parent and a glass of red wine  ) Which reminds me to check the status of the wine rack :rotfl:
Ok folks, ((hugs)) all round - must crack on.
Have a great day

Happy Birthday Moggins :bdaycake: and Happy Anniversary Shez
FunkyFairy - hope your foot is feeling a abit better this morning
Lillibet - I like your new signature(speaking as a Friends addict here) but do you think your DH might see it and think it's about him??!!?!!
Queenie - I'm jealous of you and your new chookEven if I had the space, I wouldn't have the time...
I have the WHOLE of next week off w**k :j :j :j so am starting off with a relaxing morning of doing... absolutely nothingI have barely even got out of bed yet (went to loo, washed hands, brushed teeth, then got back into bed and turned on laptop) but once I've finished posting this I have GOT to get up and get the WM on as I have hardly any clean clothes left!
In fact, the parlous state of my dirty linen basket actually ended up costing me money out of the clothes budget yesterdayWhen I got dressed for work yesterday I realised I didn't have a single decent top clean; I eventually found an elderly Gap-via-Oxfam white cotton/lycra T-shirt which I figured would look OK for work under an old BHS cardi which was also hiding at the back of the drawer. It wasn't until midway through the afternoon at work that I remembered that both the top and the cardi were really yukky under the arms, and after being worn for a few hours they started giving off a vile BO pong! Well, I was going out last night to the Wigmore Hall, and didn't want to inflict self-with-BO on whoever I happened to be sitting next to - especially after a very hot 10 mins on a jam-packed tube train! - so as it was the clothes that smelt, rather than me, I nipped into H&M on the way from tube to venue and picked up a dusky pink top (£5.99) which matched the pinstripe in my trousers. Got changed in the loo at the venue and hey presto - fresh as a daisy. Problem solved
Need to nip out for a newspaper before the snooker begins(after all, what is Mayday Bank Holiday weekend for, if not to watch the snooker?) Culinary plans for the day are macaroni cheese and a carrot cake.
Ooooh - the Thanks thing seems to be on the mend - although the button's not back yet, people's Thanks Counts are!
Morning to everybody else! (Evening to AussieLass)
Catch you later

Essex-girl wrote:DD is getting stage nerves re performing in Royal Albert Hall tomm....myself am now really looking forward to it - we all love going to London once in a while - does anyone know if there is a nice reasonabley priced restaurant nearby?
There are no restaurants at all in the immediate vicinity of the Albert Hall, but round South Kensington station there is quite a good selection. Your best bet is Chinese: come out of the ticket gates at South Ken tube, walk straight up the steps in front of you, turn right at the top, and then right again onto the street. About three or four doors down on your right there's a cheap Chinese buffet place (all you can eat for a fixed price type place). Can't vouch for this place as I haven't eaten there. Alternatively if you carry on past there and follow the road round to the left a few yards later, there's another place on the right, also Chinese (before you get to the big Brompton Road/Exhibition Road junction) - main courses about £5 if I recall correctly, always busy, and I've eaten there and it's tasty.
If budget can stretch further there is a decent, reasonably priced Italian(cheap to average by London standards - main pizza and pasta courses about £8-£9) called Pierino's. Follow my directions to the second of the Chinese places, above, and cross the road to your left - it's down the little road that runs parallel to the road you come out of the station onto.
The other place that comes to mind (and I don't know whether they let kids in, so best to look them up and phone in advance) is a pub on Gloucester Road called the Gloucester Arms. To get there, travel to Gloucester Road instead of South Kensington, turn left out of the main station exit (past Waitrose and across the big junction). Walk 5mins up Gloucester Road and the pub's on your left, on a corner. They do Wetherspoon's-style meal deals (2 meals for £6.99 I think) and I can recommend the chicken/bacon/cheese melt or the scampi! A word of warning though - they can get quite busy around meal times and service can be slow, so don't go there if you're running late. (Directions from here to the Albert Hall are: cross the main road, walk all the way up Queen's Gate Terrace (opposite the pub), turn left onto Queen's Gate, and right onto Prince Consort Road - the Albert Hall is a little way up on your left.
If you weren't on a tight budget I'd recommend Hugo's on Exhibition Road (almost opposite that end of Prinice Consort Road). All yummy organic stuff - average London prices

Moggins Have a lovely birthday  :bdaycake:
Had plans to tackle the ironing mountain but we had to take my dad to A and E as he was having chest pains and was short of breath. Looks as if he has angina and they are keeping him in hospital to check his heart etc.
Will be going back there later with DH and DDs to visit and bring grapes etc.
Just popped on here to calm myself down before doing a quick bit of shopping and preparing curry for tea."This site is addictive!"
