Yeah send them the letter stating you never received the contract, do not require the service and will not be paying as you are moving within the week and no longer require Sky TV.
Any other letter from them mark "Moved. return to sender" end of issue.
They will not be paying money to start and file a small claim in county court and send some one to YOUR local court for the sake of £65.00, and even if they are that stupid then you can change tact if a notice of action arrives from the court without penalty.0 -
Well, more hassle regarding GotUCovered.
I did sent a letter (recorded delivery) stating we do not wish to receive their service, nor would we at any point in the future. Also we never received a written/durable form of agreement on the date they specified, so were unaware of such a renewal clause (having not received the original contract of course) until the first reminder letter of non payment. Failure to provide the durable contract may contravene the Distance Selling Regulation act they are so fond of quoting and may infact mean the payment they did receive for the first year could be clawed back. I also added future correspondance from GotUCovered would be treated as harrassment and I would seek legal advice should they endeavour to take proceedings further.
As blunt and direct as the letter sounds..they did send a letter back stating they had added the admin charge and we now owe them £92.50..then another threatening legal proceedings themselves! The cheek.
Anyone have any further advice on how to deal with these people? As in, what medium of comminication do these people understand (other than a large bat around the head)
I will have more spare time shortly so I can make this my personal vendetta, as it is now turning into a matter of justice.0 -
ReturnToSender as suggested, end of issue, don't even open the letters when they arrive, you will recognise the ones to ignore.
If you have some spare time coming up why not spend it on some social or community charity work, yoga or maybe learn another language? all better ways of spending your time than communicating with a random company spiv who is getting paid to annoy you......and succeeding.
If you reply they think you are still "on the hook" and wont let go till you stop wriggling or pay up.0 -
Hi, a company has asked for a right of reply. MSE doesn't endorse anything a company says on the Forum:
“This thread in no way relates or refers to, and should not be confused with, the insurance broker; Got You Covered Limited. The company to which these comments relate was Got U Covered which sold domestic appliance insurance. Got U Covered was brand of Alan Boswell Group which is no longer regulated and has since been closed down. Got You Covered Limited was established in 2017 long after these complaints were posted. Got You Covered Limited sell Car, Van, Motorcycle and Home insurance to customers in Great Britain.”
