I don't really like egg noodles, so ramen are fine for me. I also like soba noodles, or rice noodles, from the Japanese supermarket, but they're more pricy. It's just a matter of personal taste!2015 comp wins - £370.25

Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -
Like tine I'm a closet noodle fan. I like the chicken one from tesco. Had it for lunch yesterday (poorly, couldn't think what I fancied)
And like most things, so long as its a one off and not a large part of your diet... Moderation in everything
In times past I used these with stirfry instead of the thicker ones. But now I prefer the thicker egg noodles... so these stay a guilty snack...0 -
I eat the Sainsbury's eightpenny noodles from time to time. I keep a packet at work as a reserve for when I run out of bread for sarnies. There are surprisingly few chemical nasties on the label and they seem to fill me up - bear in mind I cycle ten miles a day too.'Never keep up with Joneses. Drag them down to your level. Does anyone have an inexpensive recipe using the noodles out of the economy 'instant noodles' packs (minus the flavouring sachet - just the noodles). At around 8p per pack they are a bargain, as long as they can be put with something tasty!I have no signature.0

Hi Steve-o
I use the 8p noodles in a lovely (cheap) minestrone soup. I just chop up some leeks or cabbage and carrots and put it in a pot with a packet of 8p noodles (without sachet), stock and 1-2 tblspns tomato puree. Add some dried herbs such as oregano and basil to taste.
I love this soup and we have it all the time. It tastes better than it sounds.
Hope this is the sort of thing you meant.
I will be keeping an eye on this thread as I would like to find other uses for the 8p noodles too.

I had some of these yesterday, but with the sachet. I crushed them up, poured over the sachet, chucked in some hot water and nuked them. Then when they were almost ready, I opened a tin of peas and added half a tin of peas and nuked it all for a further minute.
Ate the noodles/peas straight from the cooking dish with a fork.
Great, instant meal for about 15p0 -
Why without the flavouring that is the best bit. The noodles are a bit higher calorie than other types and I have beeen known to use the flavour and throw away the noodles!!
With the flavour sachet and oyster/soy sauce some chicken and veg they make a great Ramen. Think Wagamama and the world of noodles will open up to you!0
