Tuna and Noodles
This will make family sized snack
3 packets of noodles (discard the sachets)
Can sweetcorn
tin tuna
3 table spoons of tomato sauce/ketchup/puree
3 table spoons of water.
put the noodles on a bowl and cover with boiling water let stand for around 4 minutes or til their soft.
In a pan (or in a microwave) place the sweetcorn, tuna, tomatoes sauce, heat though for 3 minutes (about the same in a microwave stirring half way though).
Drain noodles add tuna mixture, and toss to combine.
This will serve about 4.
We rarely eat the instant noodles (although my DS would eat them till they came out of his eyes lol) I havent tried this recipe.

I generally use ramen noodles to make Wagamama-style soups, with HM chicken/veg stock, stirfried veg (whatever's to hand, usually spring onions, courgette, mushroom & spinach) and some protein- chicken, prawns, tofu. Quick, easy and cheap!2015 comp wins - £370.25

Thanks to everyone who posts freebies and comps! :j0 -

I pretty much lived on various types of Oriental Noodle as a student - there is auite a selection down there. I still raid my local Chinese Cash 'n' Carry - they make great standby food.0 -

It's worth remembering that Palm oil is naturally saturated and so not as good/ more bad for you than monounsaturated (e.g. olive oil) or polyunsaturated (e.g. sunflour oil.) It's the reason I never buy "vegetable oil" - which is usually palm oil - but always buy a "named" oil: i.e. "sunflower oil" or "ground nut oil" - I don't mean a brand name.
Of course I haven't read the news for almost twenty minutes - no doubt the health gurus have changed their minds again. :rolleyes:0 -
You can buy these in Asda under Blue Dragon noodles in large packets without the awful salty monosodium glutamate sachet - I dont use the sachets and I add them to stir frys etc - they are good at bulking things out.Saving in my terramundi pot £2, £1 and 50p just for me! :j0

Nope sorry, there is nothing you can do to make these taste any good :rotfl:
BUT you can use them to make the nicest, most 'medicinal' soup in the world- Thai chicken! Chicken stock (plus your noodle sauce sachet), fresh lemon juice, a stick of lemongrass (expensive in supermarkets, cheap in oriental supermarkets!
), cheapy noodles, broken up, chopped red chilli, broccoli, carrots (both cut small), some shredded chicken and some coconut milk/creamed coconut. Mmmm. Chicken soup is very good for you when you're ill, as is anything with chilli in it. Bon appetit!
Apart from that, I'd suggest feeding them to the dog if you have one :TProud to be dealing with my debts :T0 -
I add some cooked chopped ham and half a tin of sweet corn when they have cooked. Also use a chicken stock cube when cooking them as they taste much better. When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0

With the cost of the added ingredients (prawns?) could you not have stretched to some slightly nicer noodles? Waitrose own brand is 69p for 4 nests (4 portions, or two lipidicman portions!) and nicer IMO than any of the brand name noodles I have tried0 -
Don't shoot me... but I actually quite like tesco's super cheap 8p curry flavour noodles... now if only I could find an organic alternative at at least a semi similar price I'd be VERY happy...
Until then my 8p curry flavour noodles in the back of the cupboard in the kitchen will be my little secret shhhhhDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
