Actually asians eat very little in the way of noodles. They are very fattening in most cases as a lot are made from palm oil.
Its the fish and rice (and exercise) that does the trick.
P.S. I wouldnt eat them, as i have done before, and the quality of them is no where near as good as the more expensive Ramen noodles (about 40p-50p a pack)0 -
Oh we love these, have them on there own with a big piece of buttered hm bread for supper, make noddle sandwiches, or my kids fav is what they call noddle doddle, which is a few packs of noddles slice in some cheap hot dog sausages some sweetcorn then loads of cheese on top.
I know they are not very heathly but they are so cheap,i sometime add a scoop full on kids plates to bulk out their meals instead of beans ectProud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
My kids eat em all the time, usually at about 11pm!I Believe in saving money!!!:T

I used to make soup with these. I put the flavour sachets in the bin though as I don't like them.
I added courgette, sweetcorn or baby sweetcorn, mushroom, onion, some ginger, garlic, lime juice and soy sauce with a little bit of crumbled stock cube.
Actually, I think I found some 'Chinese' stock cubes that I used too.
If I was making it now I'd add some deep fried tofu at the end.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
i dont like the Asda ones but i love the Aldi ones, i stick in a tin of sweetcorn, some chopped up frankfurter and enjoy.0

Boil the noodles with a handful of frozen corn but without the flavouring, drain and mix with a spoon of mayo and half a tin of tuna flakes.

We love these noodles, but we don't use the sachet that comes with them
Have you tried in a soup with salmon, julienne carrots, julienne courgettes and sweetcorn. Lovely, lovely, lovely. The courgette just disintegrates into the water and gives it a lovely flavour.
Delicious with a splash of soy sauce.
MMMM, think I might be having these for tea again!!!That's Numberwang!0 -

Well, potatoes will have loads more complex carbs and fibre. Sorry, but the noodles are the 'white bread' of the meal.ManAtHome wrote:And ignore the "OMG must be carp only 8p" brigade, probably as good for you as prawns on ciabatta
It will help fill you up, but don't kid yourself that they are doing you good. You can do so much better0 -
Am very calorie conscious and was surprised to find out that the calorie difference can vary hugely among the different types. You can sometimes get the weightwatchers ones on special in Asda or mostly the chinese type ones have less calories than the suermarkets cheaper versions.
I love having these for a quick meal if my boyfriend is out, I add sweetcorn, mushrooms, onions, any leftover meat. Can't be any worse for you than cheese butties! Putting them on butties with cheese is something I would never do!0 -
It is funny really. You buy food to provide you with energy (ie calories). Then go out of your way to buy the one with the fewest colories. My advice is eat what you need.0
