Sounds weird but add some onions in with the water (to soften them) and then at the end stir in a tin of tuna. Weird as it may sound, this works best with the chicken flavoured noodles!

Great for light lunch or a snack

Steve-o if you look at the ingredient list the flavour sachet is relatively additive free. MSG being the only worry - you can't say the same for shop bought sliced bread. You will find that on the ones I buy at least - the flavour sachet is mostly herbs and spices.

I would be much more concerned about the palm oil used in the manufacture that not only is saturated fat, but also results in the lose of large areas of forest in Malaysia and hence lots of orphan Orangutans

well i do sausage and noodles usally serve with a jacket potatoe (as a main meal)

do the noodles in the microwave as normal but add chopped mushroom/onion/peppers/soy sauce,
cook a few sausages under the grill,
    bake a few jacket potatoes,

when the sausages are done (the noodles have already been done in the microwave) chop the sausages and pop in with the noodle mixture then mix, reheat if needed and serve in a big bowl,
jackets all ready on a plate and along with some salad.

really filling tea for starving kids!
by putting it in bowls then on the table my step-kids had the chioce of chosing what they wanted (from what was given of course lol)

oregano is also a good herb to give some flavour.

    hope this helps someone :)

I am partial to a quick bowl of supernoodles :o on the go but at 46p a packet they were certainly not moneysaving.

I stupidly bought 10 packs of 8p noodles (well, saves on petrol doesn't it :rotfl:) sadly the flavour packets are awful so I'm wondering if there's anything I can do with the noodles? The only thing I'm not overly keen on is soy, and I'm allergic to peppers.

Aha. This looks like a good home for this one ...

    BOILED NOODLES

    Per Person

    INGREDIENTS

    At least 300ml of water
65g (1 small pack) of dried noodles
½ a tablespoon of sesame oil

    METHOD

Check the cooking time on the packet. Throw away the sachet of ‘seasoning’.

Put the water into a saucepan on a medium heat. Bring to the boil. Add the noodles. Boil according to the instructions on the packet.

Drain the noodles in a sieve or colander. Return to the pan. Add the sesame oil. Mix thoroughly.

    STIR FRIED NOODLES

    Per Person

    INGREDIENTS

    1 portion of boiled noodles
    1 tablespoon of sunflower oil
½ a tablespoon of light soy sauce*

    METHOD

Allow the noodles to cool before stir-frying.

Put the oil into a frying pan or wok on a medium heat. Add the noodles. Fry for about 3 minutes. Stir frequently to stop them sticking. Add the soy sauce. Mix thoroughly.

    * Light soy sauce is mainly used for seasoning. Dark soy sauce is mainly used for cooking, as its flavour develops with heating.

i only ever buy the morrison 21p chicken noodles for my kids as they love them.

but am i right in thinking all the 8p noodles taste the same it is just the sachet which makes it different. so in theory it don't matter what flaovr i buy if i don't use the sachet ?
