Got my £100 on Friday.
Does anyone know if there is a minimum amount of time I need to keep the account open for or is it safe to close it straight away?0 -
I Opened mine about three weeks ago, being a OAP,and still only have the amount I started with, what now? Or do you have to put a certain amount in mine was £40-00,Wondering now if I was too late?
Sorry but the offer closed on 19th Jan so unfortunately you were too late.
Also you had to put £1000 on 2 occassions within certain timescales.
Sorry but you need to very quick with these deals as they get closed down as soon as lots of people apply.0 -

There is nothing in the T's and C's about this but I would wait for the £100 first before closing.0 -

Applied on the 18th Jan after spotting the original thread.
Due to the volumes of applications, my account was not officially opened until 2nd Feb. Did the 2 deposists in Feb and March.
Recieved a welcome email on 23 Feb which states:
The 28 days were up on 6th April and the money has not been credited to my account.
I've just phoned and been told that the offer was withdrawn on the 19th and as my account wasn't opened until the 2nd Feb, I wasn't eligible as I didn't open the account before the 19th.
I said I applied on the 18th and it isn't my fault Barclays didn't open the account until the 2nd Feb. Lady wouldn't budge and simply stated repeatidly that I was not eligible for the £100 as the account wasn't opened before the 19th.
I've logged a complaint and said I feel ripped off, especially after getting the e-mail on the 23rd confirming I was eligable and said I will be closing the account. This will take up to 7 working days for a reply, but I'm hoping I'll hear before Friday as getting married and going away. Was looking forward to the £100 as it's been an expensive time paying for the wedding and honeymoon, so it would have come in handy.
I'm not happy with Barclays
You may notice the thread above you opened his on 19th and he got his money! I think so long as the £100 link was there when you applied it shouldnt matter how long they take to process it. Ill be phoning tomorrow as my 28 days are up then and still no £100 for me either. I too applied 18 jan.0 -
Hi
My second £1000 was paid in on 6th March, so sent an email to their complaints dept on 7th April asking why I hadnt had the incentive £100 despite following terms and conditions. Checked my account today and discovered it has now been credited!0 -
£100 was due on 4th April.
Phoned on 5th and filed a complaint as payment not made.

my husband and I both applied and have now rcd our £100. rang barclays to close acct and was told that I couldn't close acct online or by phone but had to visit the branch. told them I couldn't get to branch and couldn't see why I should have to as it was an online acct and surely I should be able to close it online or by phone. after a 40 min call and speaking to 5 different people both accts were closed. asked for compensation for appalling customer service and being kept on phone for 40 mins and got £50.
£250 for very little effort.
thanks martin, keep up the good work.Once I've saved it I spend it !!0
