Chain Restaurant Assistant Manager Threatened to Call Police
Comments
-
Once went into a pub on Holiday and had a fantastic meal. At the end went to pay, and the guy behind the bar said they did not accept debit or credit cards, but had a cash machine that did. Said cash machine gave out a maximum of £20 and a £5 charge. Note behind the bar explained that they only accepted cheques (2007). I refused to use the machine and insisted that they accept my means of payment. they called the police. meanwhile a few diners had used cash machine and paid, some others looked confused.
Sai contsabl arrived, asked if I had means to pay, said Yes Officer and showed said debit card. He goesoff to speak to Landlord. Comes back and says that he cannot accept my valid means of payment and I should leave.
Never did pay and so did some others that night.0 -

There are a few people here that would like you to help them in avoiding having the same or a similar experience...

OP- even if you name and shame the chain if they resolve the matter to your satisfaction you can share that with us too - ie. it won't matter that you have named them.0

The cops won't be interested (as long as you act in a polite way) - it's a civil matter.
Just offer what you think the food was worth. - the "price" on the menu is only an indication.
If the Restaurant wants more than you have offered, let them sue you!!0 -
How many food chains are there? Common please tell us:D
