Dinah, digital scales for £8.99 in Tesco atm, not the body fat ones, i'd hate to see that too
stones, pounds and ounces, kg and pounds are the settings on them. I dunno if i have put on that much weight that i listed or if it's just the new scales that differ from my sister's. Will stick at my 3lbs gain for now tho, and stick with these scales from now on
4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Here's this weeks chart
Congratulations to sarymaclary who is the SOTW.
Congrats to all losers and stsers :j:j (and also to the small holiday gains :j).
Grannynise will be doing the chart again from next week :beer:0 -
Granny you lovely person!!! Why didn't I think of always weighing on the same day of my cycle?!
What a truly excellent idea, that will give me a much better overall picture about my maintaining! Thank you! :T
As for pilates, no that's not an aerobic type exercise for high calorie burning, but it can still help with weight control. Those muscles you are training need more calories to maintain than fat does, so you will be raising your metabolism, which allows you a higher calorie intake! Not to mention it helps improve strength, tone, balance, posture, co-ordination, bone density etc.
I don't think about strength & toning exercise in terms of calories burned (I actually assign them "0" calorie burn in my log as with anything that doesn't get my heart rate up to at least 50%), but I continue to include them in my routine as part of my all round health and fitness
Dinah - I love my body analyser scalesI find it really interesting to track the fat/muscle split, not to mention when I gain a little bit, I'm always a lot happier when I see that it's not ALL fat
Congrats everyone with a good result on the chart this week - well done Sary!

Not on topic at all -- astonishingly whenever I have to speak to parents about their children's bad language in school (and I'm thinking of children in Nursery and Reception here) they assure me that they never use it themselves and that the children must have picked it up in school. What they don't realise is that the bench they sit on, just outside my open office window, gives me a very good idea of how they talk.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
.
This reminded me of the time one of the mums at nursery was pulled in because her little darling had told the teacher to f*&k off. She came out of the class walked right up to her friends and said "What a cheek, we don't f*&king swear so I told her it was some other little sh*t who must have taught him to say it!". The whole playground of mums fell silent and then burst out laughing!
Sary you are not a snob! If you are then I am too.
Missy - The pilates was great but boy did I feel it afterwards! I swear though I can see a difference already around my tummy (I been doing some of the exercises at home).
Hello to the newbies (does that sort of include me again?).I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0 -
I love a good swear sometimes. The F word is great.
Howdy all. I dunno really why im here because i dont have much to say, although i did weigh myself after i had a wee earlier and im still under 10 stone which i find amazingly wowish. I had a chinese for dinner last night, then re heated the left overs for lunch, the other friday i went out to waggamamas for lunch then the harvester for dinner, been having roasts and chips and all sorts. I seriously thought i would be about 10 stone 3 odd. I was starting to feel fatter but it was the bloating with my period which is another thing i seem to get now. Happy Days!
Im out tomorrow night for dinner aswell ha. Were going to the local fair and then nearby is this carvery that costs £3.59 its not bad either. Although im going shopping so thats gotta burn some calories.
Granny: You have some gorgeous eyes, have you ever tried doing them all smokey? that would really get the !!!!!! image going. Its a wonder your husband isnt fighting off the bachelors!
Did i mention to everyone that matt didnt get into the police? I forget where i am. He got 53% but we cant work out how they got that figure because communication he scored 100% something else was 78% basically everything no lower than 60 odd percent and the pass mark is 60% for kent. We reckon its because he doesnt come into a minority group. He could try and transfer his mark to the met police and then transfer back to kent after 2 years but were not feeling the London vibe.
right im off. I gotta write an email to say im not going to be doing the port anymore. poopy things.
Ciao all0 -
That was a long post considering u had nothing to say :rotfl:Sorry to hear about matt
Been a bad week here, am so nervous about going to germany next week all i'm doing is constantly picking, I hate meeting 'new' people for the first time. Bit stupid as i've known most of them online for years :rotfl:Really looking forward to it and dreading it at the same time.
Back at work too, got a replacement manager(who's as much use as a chocolate teapot) who has me working inside, so no exercise either, working right next to the vending machine too
Still working on mum's housemove. Could have slapped her yesterday, she calls me to say she's needing Bisto!! Bisto !!!!!!! I have a brother and a sister living in the same town, but I have to do a 10 mile round trip to get her bl00dy Bisto! Had a day off from going round there today, no doubt will have to go unpack some more tomorrow.
Ok Rant over, I am calm
1. 2.3.4.5.6.78.9....4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -
Blimey, me SOTW? Thanks for the chart.
Well, it's been a busy day here. I got a phone call this morning to ask me to go for an interview for a temp. job I applied for on Monday. I had the interview this afternoon - after spending ages trying to choose the right outfit to wear. I thought the meeting had gone well, and then I got shown around by the manager who was talking in terms of 'tomorrow when you come in we'll go through all this...' 'your first job will be to clear a space on your desk, sorry about that mess', and then about an hour and a half after the meeting they rang me to say I hadn't got it. I was disappointed, as I'd have liked the opportunity to learn some new skills doing the job (in IT), and it would have paid for Christmas, which, at the mo, we don't think we can afford at all this year - try telling 6 kids that! I heard this week that 45 people applied to be a dinner lady at the local comprehensive school; minimum wage for 1.5hrs a day... now THAT is the sign of a credit crunch huh?
Anyway, at least I'll get my gardening done now, as I'd have struggled to fit it all in, and I will be home on the first day of term, when my 11 y/o starts his new school, so in some ways maybe it's for the best?
I admit I sought solace in some fruit & nut (6 cubes), and 2 chocolate digestive biscuits with my coffee tonight. I'll garden and clean like a demon tomorrow to burn those babies off.
Off to have an early night tonight. We got woken up before 6am by my youngest who freaked out when he discovered a neighbour's cat had climbed in through their bedroom window, and was asleep on his bed! OH got up and went to work early, and I tried to doze, but hey ho. Windows shut tonightOne day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0
