Congratulations Sary on the SOTW! And many comiserations on not getting the job. It sounds as if you're looking on the bright side though and checking the benefits of being at home too.

Vix, you are SO good for my ego - even though you are misguided! :rotfl::rotfl: I'm really sorry about Matt not getting into the police, can he ask exactly what he needs to do to put the score up? I know other people who have tried more to get inot the Met and feedback about particular areas of the tests have helped them to do better the second time.

    Missy - you're so welcome.

Have weighed this morning, unfortunately it's the heaviest I've been all year! Ouch!!! Now I know why I usually avoid the scales for 7 days every month!

On the positive side, it was roughly equal amounts of fat, water & muscle.

My official weigh ins will resume in 10 days or so, and thereafter at 4-weekly-ish intervals! :D I know this is going to be a better way of doing it!

I'm still celebrating with my usual weigh-in day supersize pasta meal for lunch today though! ;)

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Well, more than 24 hours with no posts? What are you all doing? I've been peeling and chopping windfall apples for HOURS from the tree in my garden. Never ever had so many apples on it before but they are all falling off (and mostly have dear little squiggly things living in them too). Still, it's healthy eating.

Off to the gym now to do a bit of treadmill and some swimming . (Missy - please note).

I'm back at work this week granny, so not had much time. Am looking at a gain this week too, too near the vending machine and been working indoors all this week, so not much exercise.

Best of luck with the fresh start and your other plans KPC :D

LOL you're a regular exerciser now Granny ;) I think it's fab, considering some of the things you used to say about exercise :p Have a good gym & swim sesh.

I had a few (planned) extra foodie treats yesterday but other than that not much to report on the LW side of things :)

I am just about to start having a sort out in the house - planning to do one room a day if possible. It shouldn't be a mammoth task as things are still in good shape after last year's declutter :) I'm considering losing the home gym... it just doesn't get used much now that I'm a confirmed outdoors exerciser year-round!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Granny our tree is so laden with apples, and you wouldn't dare sit under it at the mo, as some monster ones are falling. I acquired some proper apple boxes from Morrisons when I was last there, and am going to get the stepladders out and pick the ones out of my reach. Are you peeling then freezing them? I thought i might do that. Our's have got lots of wasps in them, and they simply burrow inside and eat the whole thing. I had to use a rake to get the last lot of windfalls off the grass, but I had to put them in the green wheelie bin, as most were too bruised, or too many bugs had eaten them, plus the wasps were having a right old party.

Well, I've been entertaining some American guests, who I have known since I was a very little girl, and this is their 13th trip back over to the UK. I have only managed to get over to see them once, but it was lovely. I did them a nice spot of lunch yesterday, and defrosted some of the Cornish scones I'd brought back to freeze to offer them a cream tea. Later on they invited us out to dinner at their hotel. We had quite possibly the slowest service in the world. We ordered at 8pm, and didn't get a meal on the table until gone 9pm! The restaurant wasn't exactly heaving either. I was rather embarrassed, as we'd suggested they stay at the hotel, and eat there. Then the waitress offered us 2 complimentary bottles of wine, but none of us were drinking alcohol! The prices of the meals were extortionate, and there wasn't a great deal on the plate when it arrived. All in all, disappointing doesn't come close, but of course we will regale stories about that evening and the awful service for years to come now.

I'm off to Liverpool again this afternoon, with the children. The drive there will never seem long again, after the marathon 11 hour one to Cornwall. I've warned my friend that I am being very good, which means low carbs, no sweets, no treats. She has insisted that she gets the children pizza for tea tonight, but I've said I'll have a tin of soup. I don't know if it will cut any sway, but I do not want to be perceived to be a 'partner in crime' for over-indulgence. As I mentioned before, I found the gorging on food upsetting last month, and just don't want to repeat it. I know she's under a lot of pressure and stress at the mo, but who isn't, most of the time? We all have ups/downs, some greater than others, but packing on the weight just exacerbates the weight stress, and negative feelings about yourself. She overeats, she gains weight, she reaffirms the belief that she's a pig, and not worthy, and the cycle continues....

We have plans to go to the beach tomorrow, the cinema on Tuesday, and then I'm back Tues night.

Think slim all of you, and hope you've all had some fabulous weather this weekend. It's been glorious here.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

    hey guys.

I stood up, my eyes filled with black and then i had a nose bleed. That doesnt sound good does it?

anyway, what is liverpool like sary? My perception is rough and full of chavs. Nearest ive been is to alton towers and all of the men were wearing tracksuit bottoms with their white socks over the top. I say men... i mean scrotums. I should imagine it has its good points though.

im bored. Sundays are the devil. I went sunning myself but that got boring. Im over mums for some laptop action while matt is working. I did have the port today and i only have one left YAY.

    take care everyone

yay vix! glad you've only got one shift left! hope you are feeling better. Just made a veg risotto with all homegrown stuff nearly - I tidied up the garden and 'found' a few onions, garlics and potatoes in the veg bed from last year, and i had courgettes and broad beans from the CGA bag this week so feeling fairly virtuous. got my decking nearly finished now - just need to work out the lights but it now has steps and my furniture on it - oh is at an event so can't wait for him to get home to see it!

Well done sary on remaining strong - maybe your example will help her - your description of the vicious circle was very evocative.
