dmv - the start of my arthritis wasn't gradual, I'm afraid: it was a dramatic all over disability within a month as a result of rare side effects of a new drug I was on for another condition:rolleyes:. To add insult to injury, once it was realised I still had to keep injecting myself with the drug and get worse, because coming off the drug instantly is damaging; it had to be a gradual withdrawal. LOL not. So I am not able to offer any comperable exerperience. (other drugs now control the arthritis so I am relatively mobile)
Personally, sympathetic understanding of the difficulties and loss I find really helpful, while not dwelling on it too much and not 'being my illness' has long been my way to live. Always interesting to hear another perspective and be made aware that not everyone would want this, which I would respect.

Had a much needed good nights sleep and a lovely morning. Had to do a fasting blood test this morning so didn't eat for 14hrs overnight - a bb record:D. Just had haircut and met friend for lunch. Now home and scoffed a bowl of cherries. Weight continues to sts (that's not official granny) About ready for a knap now:o
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

dmv she has never been diagnosed with anything except mobile joints, blood tests all come back as normal. Her knees go out and back in a lot, she seems to get the pain in her hip without it popping, dunno if this is anything to do with the joint mobility or not.

Anyhoo, am totally shocked to announced a 1lb loss this week. How, I have no idea, I have been a total pig! So still on target for being slimmer for my germany trip :j

im going to go on a 3 day apple only diet that my chinese health advisor prescribed. apparently its a great detox but will certainly probably leave me very hungry.

apples only for 3 days dave?! won't that send you straight back to the biscuits? take care of yourself whatever you decide to do.

feeling absolutely rubbish today - it started sat night, feeling tired and out of it and achey and eating for no good reason. I put it down to the gardeningand the busy week. Sunday was worse - slept pretty much all day, ate nothing but rubbish. Then had to come home from work today - no energy, aching, sore head, least little thing wears me out. Trying to focus on staying good wit hte food but not easy.

yay vix on your result! and glad to hear that your presence is appreciated victory. Bails, keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Sorry peeps, wasn't meaning to be evasive, was just in a rush. Our trip isn't cancelled as we've booked our flights already and leave in 2 1/2 weeks, but our voluntary placement has been cancelled, hence why we're gutted. Trying to make the best of it and still hope to find something while we're out there. Thanks for your thoughts x

MAZZA - if the pain she feels hasn't been diagnosed officially then it may be worth pushing the matter at the doctors. I went along with being told to "come back again in x number of months" etc and ended up giving up and putting up with it. It was only when I burst into tears at the doctors and made it clear how much pain I was in, it wasnt going away and I couldnt take anymore so please can I be referred to someone and keep going until they got to the bottom of it that they realised how serious it was and actually did something about it. Doctors got into the proffession to help people but get dissilusioned by people making a big deal about a cold etc (my doctor said all this) so are used to appeasing patients and need to be made to realise the impact it is having on her life to almost be shocked into action. I know its agro but pushing to get a proper diagnosis was the best thing I ever did.

Dinner was pasta with a pack of value smoked salmon trimmings "cooked" for a few minutes in a very minimal amount of sauce made from a tiny amount of butter and cream, just enough to coat the pasta and make it shiny. Was absolutely divine and tasted very rich and luxurious. Cannot believe the salmon only cost 88p, and would have easily done another person as its so rich that I couldnt eat it all. Wouldnt buy cream in just for that dish so would just use a smidgen of butter next time, so a very cheap but delicious meal that will be repeated!

BB and VICTORY - thanks for sharing about the arthritis. I have an appointment for wednesday so I guess I will soon see.

You're welcome dmv. Let us know how the dr's goes.I agree with you about really being full on in letting dr's know how conditions are affecting you; the drugs I was on before the last ones gave me increasingly blinding headaches/migraines, but it wasn't til my consultant saw me with one after 2 years of mentioning them that she was completely horrified and realised how bad the were &tried me on something else instead(ironically the ones that triggered the arthritis but that wasn't her fault). And she's really lovely and suportive, but needed to see the impact to understand.

victory - sounds like your mum is needing you...

Having got through last night without an emergency scooby snack, due to fasting blood test necessity, I'm going to see if I can fool my brain into the same submission tonight.

kpc - you don't sound very well to me.

well done mazza for still being on target - must be the extra walking?

Feel I'm neglecting lots of newbies, but I'm struggling to keep up at the mo and do other stuff. And I'm not exactly prioritising weight loss myself at the mo: just accepting a sts period as good enough and not full on focussing.
I've been unexpectedly invited to a wedding this friday - so at least one I have something nice to wear in one of the dresses I bought a few weeks ago: nothing worse than panic buying clothes.

Vix - LOL at your exercise schedule

Thnx dmv, will get her to read through some of the posts here. She gets so bad at times she just can't put any weight on her leg without agony. Unfortunately, she's got to an age where mom can't go to the doctors with her and nag them. :o

BB - Could be the extra walking, but I actually done less last week, was inside back to my normal job, next to the vending machine :rotfl: had crisps n chocolate on more than one occasion. but nm, another week, am gonna see if i can escape and get out to do some more walking at work. Believe it or not the inside job is more tiring than the walking, so don't get as much exercise in then.
