oooh dmv I really hope you get on ok at the doctor.
    Hope your fingers improve soon.
My knees & ankles crack a lot & I have always seen it as a good sign , as the joints loosening off even if only for a wee while.

Ahh see mine is a bit different to that, as in I can swing my knee and crack it a dozen times in a row so its to the extreme. Im also "hyper extensive to a dangerous degree" as in im too flexible - when I click my neck its like horror movie thinking its gonna go all the way around lol. Can bend my thumb back to touch my hands etc, dislocate at the slightest touch and its apparently a miracle that I havent broken numerous bones as my bones are a bit softer as well (hence the smashed back happening easier and still hardening at age 20!) The clicking noise is due to something aswell that is different to normal clicking but I've worked hard to forget it as it came with quite horrible consequences. Part of it is I'm five foot two and it stunts your growth from age 13 which is about right, worst case scenario is that results in internal squishing etc and wearing out of organs too quickly, but thats in serious cases of it so I take a bit of a "la la la I cant hear you approach" to that bit! So yeah I'm hoping the arthritis bit isn't here just yet as that means the rest may be a bit premature and I get told "have kids now" which would be a few years too soon and make life more difficult. May I add to anyone that may read all this and think omg thats bad from what I know things should settle down in the next 5-10 years and while I may have arthritis etc apart from having a bit of an older tired body things shouldnt be too bad. Does sound horrible to write it out though.

Probably didnt want to know all that BEANIE but thanks for the best wishes with the doctors!

Thanks for the advice :). Read through some of the thread and got some other ideas and I've joined foodfocus to log my food intake and excercise.

Aiming to lose 2lbs this week. Good luck to everyone else with their weightloss this week!

Hi all, I was right in thinking today would be a heavy food day. I feel stuffed and bloated and didnt realise how much less/ differently I must eat now to what I used to as I feel rubbish after eating it all.

VICTORY/BB - what were the first signs of your arthritis? I was told last year that I would "probably get it all over" due to my other conditions making me click and crack all the time (one guy listened to my breathing and said i sounded like lemonade fizzing/popping away!). However my fingers have got worse over the last couple of weeks and now constantly hurt and for the last two days my dominant wrist has been sore and weak. Will get a doctors appointment this week but am feeling anxious/curious hence asking if any of it sounds familiar? Also hurts to make a fist.
the first signs were in the hands, fingers, wrists, the burning, tingling, pain, then it went to feet etc but the first was hands and how stiff they were especially in the mornings:rolleyes:

dmv my daughter is the same with joint mobility, where the common 95% of people would break a bone in accidents, her's seem to pop out of joint and damage all the surrounding ligaments, which takes just as long to heal as a break. She's starting to feel the effects now tho, starting to get pain in the hips, knees and ankles (well she's always had it in ankles as she has an extra bone there which is fused), but she's only 18 and it's pretty sad to see her hobbling around after a days retail therapy.

Anyhoo, back on day 1 here. Had a really bad week, just craving junk food. The cravings are better today, but all my fruit has gone mouldy whilst i was on my junk week, so off to greengrocers to stock up, then off to ikea with my sister.

Sorry to hear that dmv, hope the doctor can reassure you x

Am hoping to manage a STS this week after our farewell weekend with friends. We've had some really disappointing news about our trip so I will need to do everything in my power not to let this affect my eating this week. Just off for a long walk with the dog to start the day well.

Its intriguing how many variations of conditions there are as thats not quite the same (I only get pain in my back and hips from ops and ankle from injury) but there is a definite link - explains why it takes so long to correctly diagnose people I guess. I wont say she has my sympathy as the disability movement would crucify me (!) so I will say I understand thats its extra hard to go through it at a young age and wish her all the best. Also If she has a recurring joint that dislocates (mine was my hip for 18 months - cue collapsing and screaming at age 11) they can put pins in the bones to restrict it to normal movement and stop the dislocating which yes means crutches/sling depending on where it is for recovery but it solves the problem/minimises pain there for a lifetime so is well worth it.
