ps been looking at Foodfocus, it is a great free tool. Is this what you use Missy for your stats?

No, I've got my own highly personalised system :o I am a spreadsheet anorak, I think you lot would all freak if you saw just how much data I play with relating to my intake & exercise on a weekly basis :rotfl:

I have my own formulae for calculating calorie targets & exercise burns, based on my personal results over the months/years. The 'standardised' numbers you find online are a good starting point but I've come to realise they don't add up for me

Congrats on your great results lately Bails! :T Looks like going off travelling is the best weight loss plan for you ;)
  • hello everyone! glad to hear your all doing well and keeping on tracks.

    i, unfortuantly will report a
STS this week for me. im not really sure what happening,

i seem to be getting a week of loss followed by a week of sts, its really frustrating. i feel like im getting really impatitent and i want the weight to come off more quickly. im not in that zone of 'oh sod it...ill eat anything'. in fact quite the opposite, im finding my self getting really obsessive about it. im on slimming world, so i dont starve myself (as you really cant on SW) but instead i want to be constatnly moving around to burn extra fat. i know this isnt neccessarily a bad thing, but i am finding it an issue. although ive lost 17lb since mid aug, (9weeks on diet) (which, for me im pleased with, although i know some can lose alot more) i am really stuggling with the idea of loosing weight, wanting it all gone now. i wanted this to be a slow process, i WANT the weight to STAY off, and i know loosing it too fast will hinder that.

i think im feeling like this because im 2lb above the next stone theshold and pscologically, i feel i wont achieve anything until i pass that. i just need to be patient.
does anyone else feel like this? how do you get around it? please tell me im not the only one.

Last week: Average intake 1737/day. Total of 44km cycling, 26.4km cross country running, one walk/hike of 6.7km & 2.75km swimming.

This week is half term, I have a slightly reduced exercise quota but I'm going to try to add on extra walking to make up for not doing the twice weekly school walk :)

Well done everyone! :j:T I feel so lazy compared to what everyone's doing exercise wise but will definitely get back to it once the back's better. Not weighing in 'til Wednesday, just wanted to say well done to our overseas loser, super runners and marathon swimmers. If I win millions, I'll promise to incorporate a gym, a swimming pool and a race track in the new-build project, although the race track may need to be large enough for the 4 legged variety of runners who say 'neigh'. :rotfl:

Rosie, if possible instead of seeing your weight loss pattern as frustrating, try to see it as another step towards understanding how your body works. IMO a big key to successful long term maintaining is learning what's right and realistic for you.

Don't look at what others are doing, use your results so far to set achievable targets for yourself, remembering that the closer you get to target, the longer you need to allow for each 1lb to come off :)

I also like having other specific goals and targets apart from my weight. So even if it's not going smoothly with the weight, I get a sense of achievement from other things :)

Excellent advice from Missy there Rosie :T hope it helps to shift your focus.

I didn't think you used it Missy, had a feeling you had super duper spreadsheets up your sleeve. You're completely right that these things are only a rough guideline - how can they be anything else without knowing our body composition etc etc.

As for the travelling WL plan :rotfl: that and a certain white dress I have to buy seem to be honing things a little ;)

    Hi everyone,

Bails does beetroot cake taste anything like carrot cake? I've never heard of it and you've got me intrigued...

Sorry I've not been on for a few days but I did go to the gym at the weekend and burned off over 500 calories in one go. Going again tonight to do the same cos I think that's the only way I'm gonna see some results this week. I ate far too much junk at the weekend and like victory suffered for it. Why does it seem like a good idea at the time and then you eat it and wish you had just made what you were planning to make cos it would have tasted so much nicer
Hi to all newbees :hello: good luck with your WL
bananasplit "slighter badder boys from the metal bands" mmmm sounds interesting. Go on name names - our music taste is beginning to sound very much alike :D. OH has two half sleeves at the moment - one is a black and grey one that we found a picture of and the tattoo guy turned into a tattoo for his engagement pressie from me. It really is a work of art. The other one started off the same way and is a cover up that kinda took over and now goes from his collar bone to his elbow - it's mostly black and grey but with some colour in it and was his christmas pressie a couple of years back - you can see a trend forming can't you :D
