Bails I'm trying to learn to belly dance.0

hi honey! welcome to our thread, i hope you find it helps. I'm a big eater too so i'm doing slimming world as it allows me to still have those carb fests. Trouble is, sw is kind of a lifestyle choice as i found to my cost when i lost focus and boy did the weight go back on! rofling at the mention of the ainsley couscous - i work for the manufacturer and have it for lunch a few times a week! i'm quite happy with a big bowl on it's own for lunch, and oh won't eat it for a meal. you could have it with maybe quorm meatballs and a tomato sauce, or a moroccan type tagine stew, or it's good with veggie chilli too. You might find some inspiration on the ainsley website too. Hi also to NM, you sound v motivated, maybe you can give me a kick from time to time.
had a sucky day at work, round and round in circles, chasing deliveries and firefighting. Managed to put out a fair few of them thhough!0 -
Thanks Katie I will try the couscous tomorrow.
I have found the foodfocus site, it is .co.uk not .com.
It is very interesting indeed..
I worked out I need 1979 calories per day.
Remaining calories each day is: 762, 694, 1175, 1279 , 1206, 896, 612, 485.
No wonder I was hungry on some days! But now what do I do?
Do I have to hit the 1979 for weight loss or is that what I should have to maintain my weight?Weight loss November 09-January 10: [STRIKE]13lbs[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]20lbs[/STRIKE] 27lbs! :j0 -
HoneyD, if 1979 calories is what you would require to maintain your present weight then you would need to reduce that intake - or up your activity, or a bit of both - in order to lose weight. The reduction should be a sensible/moderate one otherwise you might find your weight loss grinds to a standstill as your body tries to cling to all it's got (famine mode)!
I'd start by working out what your average daily intake has been lately, and if it's lower than 1700, then up it slowly towards the 1700 level. For example if you've been on 1200/day then spend a week at 1300/day, the next week at 1400/day etc. Try to keep a reasonably consistant calorie intake each day, and don't try to up it the whole way in one go.
Once you're up to an intake of approx 1682/day that represents a 15% decrease in your maintenance calorie intake, and as long as you have sufficient body fat still to lose, this sort of plan should lead to fat loss without slowing the metabolism.
Everyone is different so remember the starting figure of 1979 is just a guide and you might need to experiment to find out what's optimal for you. Also as the weight comes off or if you change your level of daily activity, this number will also change so keep checking if you want to carry on losing weight.
It may take a few weeks/months for your body to adjust, and you might see weight fluctuations during this time, but it'll even out eventually and it is so worth it!0 -
I forgot to let you know my weight for this week again. We weigh in on Thurdays and because you weigh in Wednesday I forget to let you know.....
Shall I leave it until next week and tell you how I did this week? I have been trying really hard and only had a slight blip when I had an enormous pavlova.. oops! DH and DSs are concerned I am not eating enough but I feel fine, not hungry at all.
Today I have had scrambled egg and tinned plum tomatoes and I have to admit I need to eat before I go out later. WE are having spicy chicken pieces and salad and potato wedges for our evening meal. We are out for an Indian meal tomorrow lunch time so I will try to stick to veggie meals as they do seem to be lower in fat.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Morning lovely people from a sunny south coast:j.
Big welcome to more newbies - post every day for max support is my best advice - a wealth of support and experience on here.
Had a lovely day with my paretns yesterday, which always involves lots of lovely mum's grub:D.
I've also been busy cothes shopping this week, just freshening up my wardobe with afew key pieces. I confess to buying the next size up becasue I have been between 2 sizes for ages and clearly am not going to drop without more effort. Next size up is more comforable and is more visually slimming so I am happy enough, especially as my weight has reamained the same of a number of months now so I am confident this isn't a slipery slope.
I have had several compliments already so very chuffed with that:D.
Dinah - hope you are feeling better -you have ahad a run of bad luck with your health, I hope you get back to normal soon. And thanks for the reminder re the dangers of rice - I was astonished when I first learnt of this not so long ago.
Mum gave me a piece of sliverside beef which I have never cooked before so off to find a recipe...I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Hello losers and stayers
I don't post everyday but will try to pop in as regularly as possible. Still sticking to the no eating after 9pm rule and the no snacking between mealtimes rule, so weight loss here will be slow, as I'm not on a 'proper' diet and don't calorie count. Hoping to have lost a little bit this week, will let you know on Wednesday for the start of my week 4. Still keeping the food diary but haven't managed to cut out cakes or puddings at mealtimes and still haven't managed to get back to the exercise but I'm ever hopeful of getting into the new jeans next weekend.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

Hi guys, the WI lady was back today - hurrah! - so am very pleased (and slightly perplexed) to report a loss of 1kg. I feel as if I've let things slip a little but apparently that's only my trousers
Very happy with that :T I had a target weight to be before I left Nepal and I passed that 2 weeks ago, with another 3 months til we leave here :j
Good luck to everyone this week!The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Feeling very chuffed with myself (and very sore) as I have just completed the Great South Run in 2hrs. I almost didn't go cos I haven't trained alot and envisaged having to walk a lot but in the end I hardly walked at all, I found my slow runing pace easier to maintain.0
