Lose weight 27

Hi all
Laughing here at the prospect of shopping for new clothes as an incentive for losing weight because, if you knew me, that is so NOT what it's about. It was more a case of not having ANY jeans left to wear bar the ones I outgrew, so I HAD to get a pair and, as they were on special offer, I got 2 pairs. One a size down as I WILL lose the weight, but not quickly enough to get into my old jeans. I haven't worn ordinary jeans for several years, but I'd refused to throw them out.
The time has come to get back into my clothes or else be faced with the prospect of buying a full new wardrobe a size up... It's not an option to buy a whole new wardrobe as I loathe spending money on clothes.
I reserve the right not to spend.

KPC I could say the same when I hear about how much you usually cram into your week!!! Any update on reducing your workload by the way?
Hope you're getting some good bargains on ebay BB
Nykmedia I hear you about not wanting to spend money on clothes - the weight loss really made me focus on keeping my wardrobe small and functional when I was stocking up in my new size (not that I had zillions of clothes beforehand). I like your attitude by the way, saying you WILL lose the weight!

Good point missy - yes kpc - you're a fine one to talk, lol, your life sounds pretty full on, though some parts of it I would love to do a life swap with as you know:D. Not your partner though as I'm already living with him:rotfl:. Have you finished with your business yet?
Anyway - yes missy, I've just won a couple of eb^y bargains. Some orange cords of a make I love (and are around £49 new which is why I don't have any:D) for £4.99:j(Do you remember last year I was looking for some orange trousers and never found any) and some knee length black suede boots (fairly flat) for £2.19 +£4 postage. Delighted with both. Like you I go for a capsule wadrobe. I hate clothes shopping but I don't mind paying a bit more for quality but pretty pleased with this.
Yes beanie they did:A.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Well done on the e bay bargains BB. Just sorted through my wardrobe and removed all the much too big clothes. Whats annoying is that I didn't expect to get down to a size 12 so bought some lovely smart clothes last winter and now they're hanging in my wardrobe too baggy but hardly worn. Am now in the process of buying smart clothes in my size and I'm determined I won't have to replace them until they fall apart.
And for the chart its a STS for me this week. Time to up the exercise (which shouldn't be hard as I did nothing last week!)0 -
Babies are everywhere. Im so broody its not even possible to be broodier. I even had a dream last night that i had a baby girl and i was scared of my parents holding her incase they dropped her (we were on a mountain) I come on here and its baby talk aswell! Very cute though.
Who is jane p on facebook? its one of you lot, im thinking kpc but im probbo wrong0 -

Not me, nor will I be discussing babies unless it's to grumble about how fat I got after having them 20+ years ago. :rotfl:I reserve the right not to spend.

i don't think Jane P is anyone on here ..... or if she is she hasn't asked me to be her friend.0

no idea who jane p is, sorry! lol bb, i think he's with you this weekend isn't he? I'm assuming you've out him on the train with a pack-up as I'm off to collect him shortly. Thanks for asking Missy, my business is now wound up and done - website still up because I need to prod oh into putting up an alternative sourcing list for my customers, but i'[m all finished. It was kind of sad, but definitely the right thing to do. I'm already feeling less tired and pressured and i can really focus on my day job -which alas, next week involves starting a homebaking project. And everyone i know is getting salt or coffee for christmas.
I've been drawing my new kitchen on the kitchen walls. forgotten how good drawing on walls feels. might get some crayons, or maybe marker pens? i seem to recall lipstick being an old favourite too. Just got a facebook friend request from the dog of someone that I buy re-enactment supplies of. He's so cute that I've added him on. Little blighter's called scapaflow brown of all things.0 -
kpc, don't let him fool you into believing he cleaned the bathroom here so doesn't have to do it at your place:D.
No idea who Jane P is Vix.
Thanks Vixstar; it is great to have a clearout isn't it, though I feel your pain at getting so little use out of the newer stuff. BUt well done at dropping another size:T. I'm ready to pack away my 'summer' wardrobe and put it in the attic to keep that pared down look. . Seriously though - is there anything that can be professionally altered or would that be more than they were worth?
Nyk - most of my friends 'our' age only started their families a few yrs ago. And the rest who had them early go pale at the thought of starting over with babies at 40ish+. I suspect you might be one of the latter;)I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
How lovely to be back on and catching up with you all! For a moment I thought I was on the wrong thread as Nyk's was the first post - welcome over here! :hello:
Lol at sharing the OH banter especially :T
Right, I'm back from a month of trekking in the Himalayas interspersed with tracking rhino on foot and almost topping my entire family in a very scary jeep ride with landslides so first of all PHEW, we're still alive :j and secondly there's the small matter of a wedding on the cards, so I'd like to look as gorgeous as possible.
It's going to be a slightly unconventional journey (you know me) as I have no idea what I weigh but I wanted to come on here today and make a commitment. Having you guys along for the ride will help motivate me!
Hope everyone is well and happy. I have to go and help OH sort out all our gear and get back into Kathmandu mode now but I'll be on again as soon as my [STRIKE]slavedriver[/STRIKE] future husband lets me:D
