Thanks for the welcome - you seem like a friendly bunch!
Perhaps I should give a little bit of info about me... I'm 29, 5ft 5.5in and 9st 7lbs. I signed up to Tesco Diets a while back weighing 9st 12lbs, so whilst I'm definitely not hitting my 2lbs a week target, I'm obviously losing some. My goal is to get to 9st.
For exercise I like to go to Body Pump and Masters Swimming, twice a week each if I can. When I can fight off my inner voice telling me not to bother I also like to run and go spinning.
I find it frustrating that I have struggled over the past 5 or so years to get below 9st 7lbs. I know the main reason is that I don't try hard enough :embarasse and that I deviate from the meal plans that I labouriosly create each week. Given that I exercise quite a lot and eat pretty well most of the time, the weight should be dropping off.... So when I had my Friday weigh in and had stayed the same from last week, I figured I needed something else to help keep me on track (and having found MSE really inspiring for lots of other things) I guess that's why I've ended up here.
One of my best friends is getting married on 26th September and I would love to have reached my goal by then... I think part of me is scared of failing, so therefore I snack on bad stuff so that I can say to myself "see, you knew you couldn't do it"... if that makes any sense at all. I also find weekends really tough in terms of sticking the plan, specially as we have quite an active social life!
So I suppose I'm looking for something to keep me focused. I'm a great procrastinator and a bad finisher-completer, so it's no great surprise that I am where I am... I'm hoping that this forum might help me get over that (not so) little obstacle called ME!!
Sorry for the waffle, nm1230 -
hello everyone!
would it be ok if i could join you all on your weight loss adventure?!
im a bit of a stressed out student, trying to sort out my lovely (but very lazy.. ) friends paying their rent and getting all kinds of paperwork sorted for the house. (i swear some of them deliberalty avoid it just to annoy me!) so coming on here is actually like a kind of therapy, instead of chomping my way through a chocolate bar, i can bore you all with my stories instead!
im currently following SW, but not attending classes. a few of my friends and their mums have lost ALOT of weight on it, so i thought its about time i gave it a try!
have only had 1 weigh in and lost 5lbn(!!) , next one is tomorrow morning....so we will see...
sorry for the rant... you guys are all an inspiration!! xxshift the bulge! - 54lb lost so far :j .....alot more to go......:eek:0 -

HI there
just wondering if I can join this thread?
I just started my healthy kick start... in hope to lose weight. I dont like to weigh myself as I know I will get obsessed so I tend to just tell by my clothes. I have cut down on my food dramatically im eating around 1400 calories a day or so and gonna start exercising. At the moment I am walking everywhere because of the weather but hoping to start up gym classes.
I am 21 and very unhappy about my weight. Just thought if I join this forum it might give me support while I could do the same for others
Thanks

Had a terrible week this week [and last week, actually...], haven't weighed in yet but I just know I'd've gained weight again
Welcome to all the newcomers!Undergrad law student. Take my advice with a pinch of salt! :rotfl:0 -
rosieposie, mirnish, nm123. Just keep posting everyday and help us get to know you and tell us how you are getting on.
Weird day food wise. Not felt too good pain wise and the stairs have been difficult and I'm completely knackered and appetite gone, except for taste testing some cheese scones i made (for picnic tomorrow - it's a take and share thing). So that's all I've eaten until I fancied some crumble half an hr ago. Hopefully tomorrow all will be back to normal.
I'm supposed to be going for a long country walk and picnic.
Well done on the cycle ride vicory and the weight balancing missy:TI try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Ok, so I'm deffo going to follow my meal plan today - I was watching Lily Allen at V on the telly last night thinking that she looks in pretty good nick - not too skinny, just right... And I bet she doesn't shovel Maltesers in her gob at lightning speed, so thats what I'm going to think of if/when I get tempted to deviate...
It's a GORGEOUS day today so the OH and I are off on a long bike ride and a picnic, taking our new digital SLR camera with us along with the "Dummies Guide To" book so we can get used to using it.
Before that though, we need some food shopping and a trip to the tip! Oh and breakfast!
Happy sunny Sundays to you all0 -
Hi Everyone
After falling off the wagon for months I'm gonna try once again to lose weight.
I'm lucky enough to have a free membership to an exclusive gym because of my job so I've started running thrice weekly.
I've tried WW a few times and am contemplating trying Slimming World instead.
Which do you recommend alongside plenty of exercise.
ThanksThird time lucky on WW I hope :j

Nice to hear more about you nm123
Congrats on your progress so far! Whose target is the 2lb/week loss, yours or Tescos? IMO that's too much for where you are with your weight now. If you make a calorie deficit of the recommended 10-15% below your maintain levels as a moderately active person, you're looking at around 1lb off every 10-15 days as a healthy target (approx figures). Anyway, I hope this thread helps, I joined when I was down to the last half stone to lose as well!
Welcome me4bargains, Rosieposie and Mirnish! Good luck with your weight losses, look forward to hearing more from you!
BB I'm crossing fingers that you'll be OK for your day out today!
Me4bargains - about which plan to try, my advice would be to go for the one you think will suit you best, but if after a while you're not happy with it or it's not working as you'd hoped, then give something else a go! The best approach is one that fits in with your lifestyle0
