A kettle full of boiling water normally does the trick if you can find out where the majority of them are.0

if they are in the house then try putting down something like a plastic lid off a large yoghurt pot with some form of alcohol (personal choice is vodka) - a bit more environmentally friendly than Nippon ant killer (my other solution) and drunk ants make good entertainment!it's not having what you want - it's wanting what you've got0

Thanks all - had heard talc was good. Hubby has just found the nest and blocked any crevices. Didn't want to use Nippon as we have a little girl and was worried about the chemicals.0
