  • Hi, does anyone know of an OS/Kind to kids and environment way of killing ants. They're just very very small ones coming in by the front door, but just looking at them dart about makes me itch! Any ideas anyone?
    Thanks in advance.

  • I sprinkle talcum powder around the areas they seem to be getting inside. Always works well for me, and cheaper than ant powder!!!!
  • Hi, you can get a spray from B & Q for a couple of quid its called Ant Stop, works wonders and its kind to other animals, just don't spray it near food preparing surfaces. Hope that helps.
  • Thanks everyone! Will use a combination! Just didn't want nasty che, micals

the little boxes they walk through work a treat! B&Q sell them as well as the sprays. The Ants think it is food inside the little boxes, and take it back to the nest and then like a timebomb, it wipes out the whole nest including the queen, soldiers, women, children and babies....!!

Something I learnt from my mum - boil the kettle and pour over the area they are coming up from (preferably outside). It may take a few goes, but mile cheaper than anything you can buy, and I've had some pretty good success with it. I would guess its like vinegar, but same thing really.

    Happy hunting!

    Hi everyone.

I just had a nice long soak in the bath, and came downstairs to get myself a cuppa..............

Low and behold, there on the kitchen floor, near the back door are a few ants!!!

Im off to stumble around the pages, as im sure theres a few posts on getting rid/detering them.

They just seem to get everywhere the little critters, and a sure sign that Summer is approaching.
