Me too. When can I start sending money via BACS? It says 10 working days but they may be a lot better and I don't want to miss out on the rate. When can I start using the internet banking?0

I think that you have to wait for the acceptance letter plus they have to set up the DD with your bank. I would say about 10 days?0

I am considering opening my first savings account. It looks as though this is a good option, at least for the short term (6-12 months). Would those of you who have joined up recommend this service? Can anyone suggest how the 2.85% rate offered is likely to change over the next year? How easy it would be to transfer my savings at any time if I decide I'm not happy with the account?
Thanks guys!0 -

Would the rate change? Depends on the future really!
Don't see it as a bad choice for your first savings if you are going to dip into them- an ISA account is always a good choice, but not great if you dip in and out.0 -

this is account is easy, but they do ask for a blood sample / next of kin / details of 3rd cousin twice removed on mother's side for security passwords etc..

Egg's 2.50% account is better than either of those for ease of use“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -
The Egg account is 'new money only' and for the extra few % its worth jumping through a few hoops to get it.0
