OK, find me a PC that you're going to get an integrated suite of photo, music, movie, web, and DVD authoring software with it. It also has to come with Vista Ultimate 64 bit. It has to have a store that you can take it to for repairs, advice, and training on using it. It also has to be able to natively run Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux.
If it could also be reasonably thin and light, and look really good too, that would be a bonus.
my suggestion comes very close:P
accept running osx of course
and it doesnt have vista ultimate 64 but
but theyre not issues for me
has everything else you said thoughBack by no demand whatsoever.0 -

Says alot about MAC users there!
Does anybody really need 3 operating systems? And anyway, the MAC can't run Windows well, due to 'lack of' hardware (only 1 mouse button :rotfl:). Even Apple's USB mouse still has only one button - didn't think that one through, did they?It also has to be able to natively run Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux.
Anyway, advice to the OP... There isn't really a Windows alternative to the high end (£2000+) MACs, so have you considered getting one of the older 2nd hand models? These generally sell for anywhere from £400-£1500. HTHThe quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Well then they aren't the same, which is fine. But it makes it a bit more difficult to talk about value for money.
The Sony Vaio FW series doesn't have a body made from one piece of metal. It's thicker and heavier. It doesn't have as good battery life. It's doesn't have as good a video card, it has a slower processor, uses slower RAM, and it has a smaller screen.
But it does have the option of having a Blu-Ray drive if you're into that sort of thing. I'd hardly say it was half the price spec for spec though.0 -

 <--- this is me, rolling my eyes at you.

Finally, some advice.

Sad this has already degenerated in to a PC vs Mac debate.
Many professional designers use Macs (including myself, but I also use and own PCs too). For me the Adobe CS suite is better and more coherant on a Mac, the colour workflow on Macs is far superior from anything Windows has built into the OS. PDF creation as a standard feature of the OS, there are many reasons designers and photographers use Macs.
I'm not getting into the other points, they have been covered to death. I run Mac OS X, Windows and X11 on one of my Macs, which is several years old.
And it's a Mac not a MAC (which is something very different...)0 -
PC is the way to go if you don't want all your programs to start with the letter i.
I don't need a Mac to look cooler so PC for me.Have my first business premises (+4th business) 01/11/2017

Gosh, these new age of babies certainly are clever, managing to stump up £2500, then buying a macbook and managing to go to (usually overcrowded) Apple stores for 'tuition' on how to use there new toy!
News to me! I'm surprised I don't know that actually, seeing as we have the dreadded things at work - or maybe it's my allergic reaction to Apple...The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Right, it's a bad thing that Apple provide amazing support for their products.News to me! I'm surprised I don't know that actually, seeing as we have the dreadded things at work - or maybe it's my allergic reaction to Apple...
They've only been out for four years.0 -

So they should do to. I have only ever used OS X about 3 times, and I can say, from a Windows-user point of view, that it is nowhere near as clear and easy as Windows is. You can't get alot more clearer than 'Start', whereas you have strange things like 'Finder' hogging up OS X's desktop. No wonder Apple provide advice and tuition on using their machines.
Windows success has been proven: It is used in hundreds of different environments; Train Stations, Bars, Restaurants, Mobiles to name but a few. In fact, Windows professional is even used on the 'self service' ticket machines @ thorpe park... If that doesn't prove it's universal appeal and usability, I don't know what will. The quickest way to become a millionaire is start off as a billionaire and go into the airline business.

Sigh when I saw the title I so knew this would turn into a willy waving contest. Look they are both great products for sure.
the mouse comment was always a joke at the expense of Apple users and hasnt held true for years especially as all Macs use USB these days so you dont need to use the Apple mice.
Hardware is largely the same core2's or Xeons depending on what you're buying (mmmm Mac Pro 8 core)...
The missus is a graphic designer and was made redundant in 2005 we got her a Mac for at home (she had an iMac at that point) nearly got a G5 but got a G4 Sawtooth for £80 delivered on ebay £350 for dual 1.6GHz CPU upgrade, £50 120GB HD, £20 IDE DVD-RW and 2GB SDRAM and the system is still going today with a 24" HP monitor attached, show me a PC that old still in use!!
I have a Core 2 Quad with 8GB RAM so I sit firmly on the fence I can appreciate Apple products but I also go for PCs they all have the plus points.
If one Apple fanboi mentions viruses I will scream LOL!
Being a network manager and formerly an engineer I really love apples magnetic laptop chargers if you trip on the cable you dont twang ya lappy across the room (most common laptop damage)0
