Hope nobody minds me bumping this thread as I've found it so helpful whilst out searching - maybe someone has more books to add? (not me unfortunately, recent sales have all been under £10).

    Hi Cat,
hope you don't mind me asking, but your statement seems a bit contradictory! How has this thread been useful whilst out searching if all your recent sales have been for under £10?

I quite support the way the money savers forum provides support and advice to those selling on amazon and other platforms, but am really quite puzzled about this thread and it's uses.

Due to the number of books actually in existence, a list of rare books selling at good profit, would have to be about half a mile long to be of any use when out scouting for stock at car boots or in charity shops, which would therefore make it useless to all but those with the most photographic memory. Also throwing a spanner in the works is that you may be lucky enough to remember the title and author of a book posted here, but if confronted with a copy available for sale cheaply, would you be sure it is the correct edition and publisher?

Another problem with this is, just because a good price was achieved once, does not mean that price will be achieved again. In fact it is more likely that it will sell for less in future, especially if other people have read this thread and found another copy to list along side yours at a cheaper price.

Those of you who are currently taking advantage of amazons pro merchant offer, may want to consider downloading their buyer waiting list of over 50,000 titles, maybe less than half of these have a price of over £10 on, but it would still be one hell of list to cart around car boots and charity shops.

Just to show how human I am, and that I make mistakes I'll give this example - I recently sold a fiction hardback on amazon for £50, and a week later I was able to acquire another copy in even better condition quite cheaply! I listed this on ebay at £9.99 expecting a flurry of interest & bids though failed to get even one person watching it. Also in the past I have bought books that I have previously sold for good money, only to have the majority still sitting on my shelves months later and have watched the prices come down as more copies have been added to amazon.
