  • Hi Lillibet,

Sorry to hear about your hardisc recycling issue. We run a non profit website where you can freely advertise anything you feel appropriate for reuse so that an interested party can come and collect or arrange delivery of said item.

PC parts in general are proving very successfully for reuse at the minute, give it a look and perhaps we can save you the hassle of that 13mile trip next time.

    All the best,
    Mully

Free2take I don't think you're allowed to have your own websites in your signature. You might be best to look up the rules of the site. Sorry in advance if I'm barking up the wrong tree.
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

When having a shower we use a timer with a buzzer/beeper - set for 5 minutes and then shower has to end. I've just been in the shower and it took only about 2.5 minutes from in to clean.

That's a lovely thought, but so untrue! I am of ample proportions. If I were a casserole you could freeze me and eat a portion a day for 6 months and not starve.

We recently moved house and had to get rid of a number of items of furniture (smaller house), unfortunately a lot of the stuff was from Ikea and our local charity shop said that they didn't want stuff made with chipboard as they couldn't sell it! So I found a group on Yahoo called Freecycle and basically we advertise anything on there that needs a good home, too good to be dumped but no longer needed. People come and collect the items (possibly some of them are car booters but hey as long as things are re-cycled)

    Hi alfletcher,

There are a number of threads on freecyle and recycling in general that might interest you on the Green and Ethical MoneySaving board.

I think that the potatos that people think they are growing from composted waste are probably tomatos.
I have found these growing in my garden and I let them grow to fruition.
I thought they were potato but they turned out to be tomato - they look similar - they are from the same family.
If you compost tomato trimmings or even cooked tomato waste, the seeds survive and emerge as plants in your garden.
On another note - for the mums - tomato seeds turn up in your baby's nappy - they are indigestable.

Recycle your printer cartridges! It's dead easy, just go into a Cartridge World store and they will refill your cartridge for you. Its cheap, easy and good quality AND it prevents landfill!
