I did it. I've finally run a mile. I took it a lot slower than I normally would and I just had a smoothie rather than porridge before I left. I'm dead chuffed. Just 2.1 miles to go.

    Brilliant news, Rachel!:D

    Don't new milestones feel great?

You've now proved to yourself that you can go further by really easing back. So it will be simply a case of applying the same principle to 1.25 miles, 1.5 miles etc but only when the body feels ready for it.

    You'll get to 5K - there's no question about it!:D

Hey, Beer Tins, do you fancy doing Wimbledon this coming weekend?

Great stuff Rachel; slower is definitely better for building up the miles. Well done :D

Fartleks for me this morning so I've been out playing. I'm glad to report that there was no sign of Sunday's LSR in my legs so I decided to test myself a little to see what sort of pace I could maintain over the 4 miles.

    4 miles - 00:36:33 (09:06/mile) :j:j The splits were 09:12, 09:01, 09:09, 09:03 - but back to plodding tomorrow :D

Have fun everyone and don't forget your suncream if you're going out later!!

    Wow, Simply!:D

You do like your play times don't you! So some clear evidence of how elevating the pace in just one session per week can improve fitness significantly......as long as it is done consistently.

    Great to see!!
