Can do E.C - how many days a week and whens the race - I've got to do Pink's first so it may take me a few days
Good luck with the run tonight0 -
On other news I have two announcements...
1. I've been for a 3 mile run today :j:j (thats double what I managed on Sunday) in 28 minutes or so - roughly 10 min/mile pace
2. I'm not doing Fleetwood marathon - I've decided to not do another marathon this year and really take th pressure off as my lungs and stamina have been effected by my enforced break and 12 weeks isnt enough time to get back into the grove sadly. However I am going to run the half there instead so my entry isnt wasted and run Blackpool mara next year in April and spend the rest of this year really honing my speed and medium distance events - I am going to try and crack a 1:30 half by December 31st:D
I think it makes sense as I can see me getting too stressed otherwise and running is fun not hard work
Going to have a good solid crack at 3:30 for April though to really focus the mind0 -

Anyone else just had the survey email from Parkrun??
My link doesnt work...
Yep - and the link works. Must be the easiest survey I've seen!:D
Also nice to get a personalised 'results email', rather than the standard automated one, congratulating on being the first runner to complete the new Heaton Park event. I thought that was a nice touch!:D:D
Hehe I love the jealousy over veteran status - never have a group of people ever been so keen to become veterans!:p
Idio - Becky and Beer Tins have pretty much covered it. The only thing to add is that you will need to progress up to the target and expect the chunks of time of improvement to dwindle very quickly.
For example, the work taken to improve by 2 minutes now may only produce an improvement of 30 secs once you get to 43 mins and 15 secs once you get to 41 minutes. You also have to keep stepping back and then having another run at it so to speak, but that sort of target will be beaten if you're determined enough.:D
Smetf - Welcome along!
Krider - You're certainly getting the hang of the 'less is more' approach and will keep you away from the injury list into the bargain.:D
UK - You're already eligible to go for a 'Good For Age' entry, you just need a marathon time between 2:45 and 3:00 before 21st August and you're in VLM2010!
Becky - Good planning!! Running marathons when not fully prepared is only for pain and injury lovers - so working on the half time while getting your body toughened up for next spring makes total sense.:D
Sally - There's nothing wrong with being a vet!;) Just think of all those prizes waiting to be won.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
Blackpool Marathon 11/4/2010 (Target=2:59:59) (6:52/mile)
Abingdon Marathon 17/10/2010, (Target=2:48:57) (6:27/mile)

Should come in useful if you need to give an Irish priest the swerve as happened to that other chappy during his marathon in Athens!:p
Just one pic from yesterday's Freckleton 1/2. This is about a mile in, not a particularly good pic but I'm second in this frame (Note the arrows on the road - I'm glad I didn't see them, I may have been a little confused:
