Rich I'm thinking of Eccup 10 miler - wont beat st Albans time but why not get back into the flow at my favourite distance
Me and Rich did a couple of little jogs on the weekend but I was really too cold infested to get much of it - didnt break anything though so thats good
Guy who ran the Leeds 10k - from where we were standing it looked like a bit of a strange race because there were some very fit people mixed in with some people walking (just after half way) - it looked tough to get a rhythm going - the Freckleton half in afternoon was a much nicer atmosphere and much better organised but I guess its a lot smaller so its easier
Anyway am hoping to run home today - cold is going but will still take it very easy and see what happens - I'll be lucky to get a four miler in I think
Well done Simply on 14.5!!!0 -
Becky - it was a bit strange. I think Sally must have done two 10k's with all the weaving she must have had to do. It was very narrow in parts and down to a walk in some parts (well for me anyway) and as someone has posted on fetch, difficult to get past the walkers who insisted on holding hands on the narrower bits.
I think they need to split the runners up a bit better, or at least have the walkers start at the back.
I saw about five people fall over in an attempt to get past people by going up pavements (and missing their footing).Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Unfortunately, that is the nature of 'races' that are put on for no other reason than to raise money. If you're interested in running times you simply dont get involved in this type of event. Why pay double the entry fee to be crowded out?
Dan Robinson had the opposite problem....of being on his own the whole way. So to run 30:51 in a solo time trial is pretty good going, although well within the capabilities of a 2:13 marathon runner!:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

That was no problem tbh considering you could be done in Leeds at 10am, Freckleton didnt start until 2pm and the travelling between the two events was only an hour.
A gentle 10K to warm up for a half marathon is not at all unusual...although it is a bit pointless paying £20 to do so!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Morning all
Well done everyone on the TONNES of running done this weekend, some brilliant times coming through, especially the Leeds 10k times :T i'm so jealous!!! lol
I've still not put my nike's on, just cannot seem to get even 20 mins to myself thanks to my mother's diabetic dog deciding to have a theatrical weekend of d&v, refusing food, and even a few escapes, thank god i have kind neighbours! And i got a phone call last night from mummy dearest saying she's having such a good time, their not coming home tomorrow as planned, their gonna stay til thursday!!!! So i have resorted to bullying my brother into coming round just so i can finally get out even if only for a 2k walk/jog round the block to blow the cobwebs off, but i have to make him dinner  go figure!Debt@LBM1=£4050 1st DFD 27/08/09Debt @LBM2 =£14,469.97 2nd DFD 14/03/2018 :T

I think Sally must have done two 10k's with all the weaving she must have had to do.
My garmin did the 10k way before the finish line. And my time was 58.59 with all the weaving so if I were to run a competitive 10k without loads of weaving and going up and down on pavements pretty sure I could do it around 57.00.....
Off to find a race maybeI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Morning all
Just to report on the llanelli 10k yesterday - was a nice race. Not as flat as I was hoping, some of the "gentle undulations" were a little bigger than I was expecting, but not bad and the weather was "just right", so no complaints overall.
Was pretty ill on Thursday night, so wasn't expecting anything spectacular - got round in 47:20, though - which I was pretty pleased with all things considered (over 2 mins off previous "official" best) - one of my mates did *just* beat me in the sprint for the line, but what you gonna do, eh
Lovely little trophy thing they gave you afterwards - like a glass block with a couple of 3D runners etched into it, nice gift box - by far my nicest "prize" I've gotten so far.
Hope everyone else's races went just as well.0 -
Rich got a huge towel for Freckleton but it cant beat his bookmark from Greenway
Well done on a great time Idio
Sally if you want to weave less pick a smaller race - it'll be cheaper tooWhat about this one:

Its only £6-80
