Thanks Rich; 6 months ago I hadn't even plucked up the courage to run outside so I'm very pleased!!!
I found the last two 12 milers quite hard going so had a bit of a psychological issue to overcome with14 miles. However, after our 'conversations' around pace this week I figured that I had been trying to go too fast on my LSR's so was determined to slow it down. It worked - so thank you very much
I hope Freckleton goes to plan - looking forward to hearing how it went2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Brilliant day for you yesterday Rich - inaugural winner and all that
Good luck with Freckleton.
And some good LSR running going on Simply and UK. Congrats on both getting further than ever before. Useful tips on pacing for the even longer LSR which I'm mentally tucking away for when I build my distances back up - ta!
And scorgeous - the best WAVA so far shouldn't be sniffed at. And gives you something to aim to beat in the future :T
Legs ached for most of yesterday - I'm hoping that was rebuilding going onand not the effort of dodging tourists in the Big Smoke (I'm only a train ride away so don't count as a tourist obviously
)!

Hi all!
Sounds like some good running's been going on this week!
Simply - you sound like you're motoring 14.5m?! That's amazing! :T
Great news on the Heaton Park run Rich! You must be well chuffed with that! I might come along next time, as it's not too far from me.
Just finished the Leeds 10k. I found it hard going - the sun was a killer.
I was chatting with a lady who'd ran the Leeds half last month and she thought the 10k was harder! (Which made me feel better)
Don't know my time yet, but I reckon it was well over an hour, which is disappointing (though had to stop in Maccy D's for the loo).
I check in with my time later, well done to everyone else who ran :T0 -
Well done macgirl; it couldn't have been easy in the sun. :T I was lucky and set out about 06.45 hrs (omg, only a runner would consider that going out at that time on a Sunday morning was lucky!! :rotfl:) so I was finished before it started warming up too much.
Will the 10k results be available soon??2021 MFW No.18 £9900/£10,000Mortgage at 21.07.20 £178,999 Mortgage today £150,8910 -
Thanks! Yes, that's my preferred time to run. It's so exhilarating when all's quiet!
It felt weird eating porridge this morning, maybe that's what put me off my stride....
Results not up yet, but I'm not expecting greatness. Think I need to put in the miles as Rich suggests, then hopefully, the times will improve!0 -

Just back from Freckleton - happy enough with the result although a little outside target time. Could certainly feel yesterday's race and there was a little too much influence from last night's chinese takeway for my liking!:p It was also very warm. A great atmosphere nonetheless for what was in fact Ron Hill's last half marathon at age 70 - he finished in about 1:48.
A good chunk quicker than the last half in Brighton though and shows me that there's plenty more to come...so lots of positives.:D:D
Thanks Krider and well done on the tourist dodging - some of them take more getting round than the M25!:p
KMS - I wont be doing Heaton Park next week as I'll be doing the Wimbledon Parkrun, the following week is Leeds and then a week off - so it will be probably be 4 weeks before the next.
Macgirl - well done on the 10K, hope you get a time you're happy with!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
