hello all, well I did it, don't really know the time as my watch didn't work right so will have to wait for the results to be posted later.
Once again a huge thanks for all the advice & support that you have given to me over that last six weeks it has been invaluable.
If anyone had told me 13 weeks ago that I would take up running and have run my first ever 10k I would have laughed at them but here I am 12 weeks of running later & the race completedI can't :jI don't have the energy!

I make them for each person I dont "have" them per se...
As I suspected yesterday - its not my neck its my shoulder thats funny and I have pulled a muscle by the feel of it today - I cant compress or stretch one side without pain - not good for looking to cross the road...it looks like the neck was just from the inflamation - i.e. it was pressing on a nerve - loads more pain today becuase its healing...
Not worried - will take it easy tonight in warm up and see how it goes! Not really affecting the running at all - but its likely I did it reaching for something at home in the top of the cupboard
Hannah - 10 weeks?
Okay are you running 3 times a week or 4?
Furthest so far is 8 miles right?0 -
but its likely I did it reaching for something at home in the top of the cupboard

Why do I have a nasty feeling that when i wake up on Nov 9th the only thing that will be on my mind is "Must train for Triathlon now"
However i notice its not very MSE... £800 for the cheapest bike :rotfl:... just might make me keep me feet on the ground with that plan mind.. ( Might )
My partner has started doing Tri this year, and if you shop around you can pick alot of second hand nearly new gear up as alot of people buy the basics and then either decide it's not for them or they upgrade stuff quite quickly.
He got his wetsuit from ebay, bike was new - Specialised around £650. And then get a lidded box from Wilkinsons to put in goggles, ear plugs, vas, talc, socks etc for the transition period. We've picked up tips at everyone we've been to this yearGood wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.0 -
Thanks bagpuss its a long way from the £40 last years design shoes, some 4 pound shorts and a 8 pound shirt mind.
...
What about if you want to take part in overseas events must be a pain and costly to drag your bike with you.
Not sure about a UK Trialthon with the swimming bit... but give me the Med and ill be there.

Am in for the Kilomathon so that's something to aim forDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
OMG just had an email from the charity I ran LM for last year - minimum sponsorship is now £5,000
Mine was £1,000 and I didnt meet! Can you imagine having to raise £5,000 as well as train for a marathon - that is just beyond a joke!0 -
best get your bucket out now then :PCabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0

I just don't understand that model at all.
"Please sponsor me so that I can raise money to enter the marathon"..."now please sponsor me to actually run the thing". It's stoopid.0 -
There is only one thing more stupid than asking for £5000 and thats doing it knowing you have to get to £5000.............:eek:Cabbage Patch 09 - 10m - 1hr 06mLeicester 09 -1/2 - 1h 26m0
