Nice hill running Evab - your pace seems to have picked up a bit from earlier in the your training - which is encouraging considering its now hill work!0

Hannah - well done! on the running and the weight loss - eek - I'd better get my finger out! I just can't get down to target of 10 stone. grrrr. Although, someone passed doughnuts around the office and I thought of Rich saying 'that's 4 miles of fuel' - I don't mind running the 4 miles, but I couldn't stand the thought of eating the doughnut costing me all that effort - so the comparison worked well!
Well done for sticking to Slimming World - I actually started to follow more sports nutrition principals, with the help and advice of a friend, and then gave up SW - thinking it was an hour better spent running! ha ha! (And a fiver saved!) But then again, I haven't reached target weight - so whatever you do, don't copy me!0 -
B.J. that last bit is always the hardest anyway...because your body becomes adapted to living on little fuel and exercising - but it will happen eventually
I'm still trying to drop to racing weight but I am making no effort at all to watch what I eat at the moment - I will get there over the course of a year or two (about 7-14lbs off I would guess) so you can see how slowly it can happen...
You look great anyway - think of all the weight you've lost to date - takes a lot of determination to do that so dont get down on yourself now - its like the end of marathon - the miles are still the same length but boy do they seem to go on forever0 -
Thanks Becky - can't believe you don't consider yourself 'racing weight' you look amazing, as does Steve - and I know he's won the weight fight. in a way, I'm glad I've fought the weight battle - 'cos the brilliant feeling of achievement and health can't be beaten!
I know it'll come, I'm changing into the weirdest shape, think I'm going to be a little barrel on lumpy looking sticks soon! My legs and bum have shrunk beyond belief, with little muscley lumps that keep appearing - so weird! But still too much belly - ha ha! Never happy eh!
Nice 4 miler this evening, 10min/mile average. Will go for a longer run tomorrow. I'm kinda alternating distance/days - does that sound an OK plan?0 -

pace is better but it did feel slow at times even on the flat bits! certainly need to push myself a bit more.
Having a night out tomorrow, a Social Night at the TA center, so no time between getting home and going out again to do a run so need to work hard for the rest of the week.
Well done Hannah on the weight loss, I'm still carrying a few extra pounds although saying that I haven't weighed myself for ages and just eaten so will do in the morning0 -
Everytime I upped the weekly mileage by about 5 miles, I tended to put on a couple of pounds. Mostly disappeared again with continued running but I think the body panicked each time (and there was only a small amount of muscle gain) then let it go again once it realised it was all OK! It happened going to 20, then mid-twenties, and then this last few weeks of 33/34 not 28 caused it again. All gains/losses with the same sort of diet!
Another 4 miles done today in 37:33 (9:22/pace). Felt very comfortable, if a little warm again with the sunshine. And yet again felt wrong coming back in under an hour! Never thought I'd be saying that when I set out on this journey in February where the thought of 3 miles was enough to cause .
Total for the week = 8.5 miles.0 -
Well done krider, good work.
I'm finding that my diet is pretty much the same but I'm actually using the fuel better, i.e eating museli and that lasts until lunch, not snacking on rubbish and generally eating sensibly with a few treats now and again. I do love Roast Beef Monster Munch though so have to keep away from the shops!0 -
Has to be pickled onion monster munch
Not that we have any in! Have succumbed to the odd pack of seabrook crisps after LSRs cos of the salt in them though

Krider, Evab - thanks, interesting about the food. I go through phases of being starving hungry - and it does seem to be directly linked to effort. For a while I thought it was just me 'losing control' again. And yes, effective 'fuel' is far more satisfying - I can't do without my porridge and blueberries, and if anyone asks to share my fat free onken strawberry yoghurt - god help them! Oranges, I'm always eating oranges! weird!0

Simply - do you ever stop running?! I can't believe your mileage!0
