  • Becky has finished comfortably in about 2:08:20.

She went through 5k in 27 mins (whoops!), 10k in 59 mins (far more sensible) but hit quite a lot of congestion en route so is quire happy.

She managed to get a nice tan too!:D

And she thoroughly enjoyed it, which is a big difference to last week.

Yaaaaaaaaay, that's the 'peak' week of my training schedule completed, a new highest weekly total of 54 miles, and it's taper all the way now. :D:D I feel for our GNR's as it was hot when I set out at 07.45 and has just got hotter and hotter.

How did your 16 miles go Uk? Was your knee ok?

    Well done Becky!!!!!!!!!! :T:T

    Hi all

Just jumped in on this page so no idea what's gone on before :D

Way to go Becky :T:T and the same to any others also.

Simply, I'm very impressed by your race plans as I'm only in training for my marathon in a few weeks and that's it. Mind you, I have a few club races to participate in but they won't be longer than 10ks.

Another 20 mile run this morning/afternoon. Felt much better than my last 20 and was 'comfortable' at the end. The time sought was 3.12.20 @ 9.37 pace, but I managed it in 3.10.50 which worked out to 9.32 pace. I was very surprised!

Anybody tried that drink called 'For Goodness Shakes'? I managed to find one in my local Tesco and drank it as soon as I got home. I'm not sure if it's helped but I'm not in as much pain as I thought I would be. Hmmm.........

Off to cook dinner now and I'll leave the housework til tomorrow as I'm tired. I'll come back later this evening to catchup, unless I fall asleep

  • Becky Becky Becky Becky!!!

Yeah, brilliant work - an inspiration to us all. What a great weekend all are having. I'm rushing to prep the dinner, then off for a LSR, to wipe out yesterdays blip!

Rich has to eat ice cream, it's very stressful supporting another runner you know!
  • Wow, well done poorbabe; that's speedy!!! :D Can't help on the 'For Goodness Shakes' I'm afraid - I don't do milk *shudder*.

krider - I've just realised that my previous post sounded really bossy. :o What I meant to say was; perhaps you might like to consider finding our way round the course together if you are entering?? We could fish each other out of the Thames if necessary :rotfl:

  • Poorbabe - that's flippin' brlliant going! Never mind no races, you're going great guns anyway, add a bit of race atmosphere and wow! Keep up the good work.

Is becky collapsed in a heap somewhere? With every right to be!
  • Wow, very impressed Simply and Poorbabe with those LSRs.

Simply, you just dont tire any more, do you? 54 miles is more than the vast majority of runners ever manage so the musc;le strength will stay with you for a long time.:D

Poorbabe - You're like a target oriented missile. Set a target pace and off you go and achieve it. You'll eat that Eden Project event for breakfast.

Thanks for all the thanks - ran well within myself today to ensure that I finished after last weeks rough race.

I also found it very congested - especially at the water stations. Great course though - first 3 miles were very fast, mile 10-11 was all uphill, and then mostly downhill to the finish :D

Lost a few minutes moving out the way for an ambulance and saw lots of collapsed people which was a bit upsetting :(, that and the guy that shoved me in the back (although I did glance him with my elbow as he went past ;)).

Nice run all in all - 12 minutes off pb so not lighting any fires speed wise but I feel good enough to tackle my mile reps tomorrow :D

Well done to everyone else as well :D Alias - 7 seconds
