...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

A superb weekend for running gang :j We all done well *group hug*
:T
Alias, seeing those photos almost makes me want to enter for next year, but then I remembered I stopped doing the GNR because of the increased participants year on year. Wasn't able to watch it as I was out doing my own run, but deffo next year.
The legs aren't feeling too bad and the hour-long doze helped but the chicken was a tad overdone . I'm away for a long weekend with friends so my plan is: speedwork* Tuesday, 4 mile tempo Wednesday and LSR on Thursday @15 miles. Hmm, I'd better get some early nights then, especially as my friends aren't planning on us getting much sleep whilst we're away
Time for a little alcohol and more 'chillaxing' before sleep time. See you all in the week :hello:
*My speedwork never really feels like it, but it all helps I guess. I must remember to bring my watch to time myself :rolleyes:The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -

Mon - 4 miles at gym
Tues - Rest
Weds - Rest
Thurs - 35 min tempo run at gym (not sure I do this right but did 10mins at 9.5 kph, 15 mins 13.2 kph and 10 mins 9.5 kph)
Fri - Rest
Sat - 5k
Sun - 7 miles
Did Wimbledon parkrun yesterday and wanted to go under 22 minutes as came so close last Sunday at the great capital run. I went out too fast I think and it felt like a bad race I was flagging at the end. However when they gave time of 21m 09secs a few hundred metres from finish I perked up and managed to sprint to end. Wound up with 21m 57s as new PB. I was a bit diasappointed with how I ran, but can't complain really. Didn't stop me from signing up for my first 10k (Clapham Common next month):D.0 -
Congratulations, Mrsplinter on the new PB.:T (And what an improvement from 29:12 in April to 21:57 in September!)
Are you going again next week?
We should be there next Saturday - its time I had another crack at beating the race director after losing to him by 1 second last time! Must try harder, but then again he did have a good one yesterday by the looks.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
