Following the discussion about the impressive performance by the 70 year old who finished in front of UK on Sunday, I was a little surprised to find that Ron Hill is now 70 as well....although I dont know why I'm surprised, he has been around quite some time!:p
Considering that he has run 103 marathons quicker than 2:45 (and 29 under 2:20) I'm going to try to grab some tips off him on Sunday since he's doing the presentations at the Freckleton Half.
Still keeping his 'training every day' sequence going as well....now over 45 years or 16,500+ consecutive training days....although I think he's given up on breaking world records these days.
Interestingly, his connection with this event is that he was the first winner of the Freckleton Half back in 1964 when his training sequence started....................and that run is still the course record to this day at 1:04!!! Impressive.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Yeah they updated the maps to include a path where before it was blank - check out by the London Eye for an example0

Dont think so - I've never been able to map that bit or the bit down Chelsea Embankment accurately - ooo I wonder if they've changed Hyde Park too - the paths are wrong in there, better go check
No they havent boo to them - still have to use Hybrid for that bit and check where the trees are0 -
Did another 3.7 miler last night the same one as Monday night but got it tough!!
2 mins slower than the previous night!!!! Very tired today so I may have done a wee bit too much!!
I had a banana around 5pm on Monday then dinner at 6 then ran around 8.45pm, did the same the last night but no banana and I am wondering could this be the reason for the less energy???0
