  • Thank you sweetie! I know, I just enjoy it, and want to be a bit faster and able to go a bit further - but hey, earlier in the year I couldn't get to the corner of the street eh. The Park run people are so nice too.

roundshaw feels quite hard compared to my other routes. My hubby did it today for the first time, his first timed run. It was funny though, he tripped over a tree route, went literally head over heels, rolled, jumped up and carried on running. Hilarious.

I'll look at the mapping, I like Battersea, may give it a go for a change. Can you park the car there these days? So long since I've been over there. If not, I'll cycle there as my warm up.

Sarah, I'm quite new to running too but the support & advice I have been given on this thread has been invaluble. Good luck with your 10k

BJ - sounds like a great run today :j For my 10k on the form I said 2hrs as my time  as I wasn't even running 2m at that point so really didn't have a clue. I did 6m in 1hr 16 so anywhere around there I will be very happy! :j

Evab - Hope you are feeling better soon x

There's definitely parking - dont know if its free though ;)

Well done to hubby - good time despite the fall :p

I would say its the hardest one I've done of the parkruns and Rich's slowest time too so dont feel bad about finding it tough - I was sick during my run on the course!
  • Oh, I remember you being icky! Poor you! OK, maybe I should whizz over to Wimbledon next week then, all the Roundshaw lot seem to say Wimbledon is nice and flat! Maybe I'd get a better time - just for the morale boost! Have you ever done Banstead Woods?
  • Hi everyone

Not been here since last week and I'm not going to attempt to catch up on the millions of posts since then :rotfl: All I will say is good running/time/improvements to everyone and keep it up!

Welcome to any newbies. You'll get lots of support and more than a few laughs along the way too :D

A sort of lazy week after Saturday's Park Run and Sunday's 18 miler. I didn't do any speed work on Tuesday:o but I did 6 hills on Thursday and 8 miles this morning at a very good pace - quite shocked myself actually  (8 miles in 1:09 at 8.40 pace rather than the 9.37 on my training plan - maybe my Garmin was faulty!!)

Tomorrow will be running 20 miles and I'm still not sure if I should head back to Richmond Park but find the hills or head to Crystal Palace. I'll decide in the morning.

Good luck to all running in the morning. Hopefully I'll have good news to report :D

  • Urrggh. Having to get up far too early for this HM Great Scottish Run. I haven't been so nervous/exciting about a race for ages......because it is my first race for ages! Apparently there's 21,000 entrants!

    morning all,
Think I might have to spend today catching up on all the posts I have missed!
Well do to everyone what ever they raced/trained:j

Anyway, did the Roman Run 17 miles in 3:11 managed to knock 2 mins off my time from last year ( usually gale force winds at the top, and low cloud cover...well rain) but what a race absolutely love it:D, though this year the organisers threw in a flock of rampaging sheep as an obsticle!
On the lpus side, far more water stations, and MILE MARKERS.......having done 6 years without any what a welcome sight.

So day off for me today, might hit the gym later depending on how i feel ( upper body only).

Are these park runs any good? I keep seeing them being mentioned.
Proud to be dealing with my debt:eek:

TOTAL: £6,437 (04/01/2013) slowly but surely it is decreasing:D

catspaw I think you're nuts running up pen-y-fan, I had enough trouble walking up it! I love Brecon, except that my dh always tells me his stories of his training exercises up there 'when I was in the army.....' yawn!

Feeling much better today, managed to sleep for 12 hours even the baby did! So hopefully that was all I needed, not sure when hubby returns today but might just have an extra day off and start back tomorrow.

Well done bj on your excellent progress, good luck to everyone running today and welcome to Sarah.
