  • Great going Uk; looks like it was worth suffering all that tapering. ;)

I love Rich's sympathetic approach to your hurty legs - still I'm sure fruit and nut will work it's healing magic. :rotfl:

    hi all!
sorry to hear you are a bit green Becky.....

    Well done UK....what a time!

    Thanks for the encouragement Rich....

I did my half today and I am pretty happy really. Firstly excuses...... it was hilly, a lot more so than I was prepared for as i NEVER train on hills.

I felt good when I went off and was trying for sub 2hrs. however I went off far too fast (fooling my tiny brain into thinking that I was going this fast because I am brilliant:o........after 4miles reality set in.

overall i was a bit all over the place and suffered in the last 2.5 miles.

    but...

    I'm happy with my time

    just looked it up.....

feeling very stiff now and had a painful right foot and left hip at about mile 9, im sure its ok.....

Rich....overall a great course and a friendly but rubbish bag of goodies.....

off for a lie down and some telly!!

  • I'm back from my longest run to date and my legs are starting to hurt now! My hips were really uncomfortable for the last 3K but I guess carrying the extra 3.5 stone in weight will do that :o

So. I did 20.04km in 2hrs 37mins. Average pace 7.52per KM. I did have to do a few walking breaks in the last 3km otherwise it wasn't too bad.
Good wine needs to breathe, if it stops breathing try mouth to mouth.
  • well done bag puss

always nice when the distance gets broken!

  • Well done, Mascott - obviously you have a time in mind when you do your first half but really you are doing it just to put a marker down and learn about the event.

So when you take all the information that you've learnt from this one I'm sure you'll pace your next one more optimally and, hopefully, get under that 2 hour barrier.

K_Bagpuss - Good solid session there...that should help with your mental preparation for 2 week's time.
