It was a bit hard going on this morning's run - I did a couple of miles wind resistance training as I ran along the sea front but at least it blew the cobwebs away :D

I hope everyone is enjoying their running (or tapering) today ;)

Hard going and you still managed 10 miles - thats an achievement in itself!!!

Uk thats my home town you are talking about! Careful not to get dive bombed by Falcolns on the portway ;)
  • I've been tapering for the Great Scottish Run HM on Sunday but not in the normal sense as I was on holiday in Paris:rolleyes:

Was running 3 to 4/week until but it has been fri, wed, tue, wed in the past 2 weeks. One run in Paris and go lost so it was a 40min run instead of 20min light jog haha.

3 mile jog tonight then lets see what happens on sunday. No idea what time really, makes it fun. Anywhere from a 1.35-1.50....seriously I just don't know with all these slow 8.30-10.00min/mile recently.

  • Thats one of those strange coincidences -

On Sunday morning UK (who comes from Sheffield) is going to be in Bristol and Becky (who comes from Bristol) is going to be in Sheffield.

Talking of which, I wonder if Jessica is going to grace us with her presence on Sunday, maybe she could be the official starter?:D:D

Feeling rubbish, 18 miles planned today- turned into 16.24 (11.21/mile) had to walk some- wind was awful and felt like I was going to be sick at 13miles. Feeling pretty frustrated now, on an upside have no pain in my foot :-)

  • tq - Don't feel bad - there's probably a reason for it.

I had a run like that two weeks ago and had to cut an 18 miler short at 12 miles. I felt really bad about it but it turned out I was in the early stages of developing a cold; I rested for a couple of days and managed a 20 mile LSR last week.

Give yourself a bit of time, take it nice and slow next time out and you will be fine :D:D

A nice sunny morning, if a little on the cool side, for this morning's parkrun. Good conditions resulting in another chunk of improvement in Becky's return to form.:D

Now looking forward to tomorrow and the attempt on a sub 38 minute 10K!

tq - Thats nothing to worry about at all. Some days its effortless, some days its not. Que sera sera! I've set out to do 20 miles and called it a day at 8 miles an set out to do 16 miles and called it a day after 1.5 miles in recent weeks. Training should be guided by what the body is asking to do in the main.:D

Ooo just discovered another new feature on the parkrun website....very useful for tracking progress over time:
