Great innit? Not only do you have the charities strangling the lifeblood out of distance running, now you've got the ticket touts as well!

Any entries going down that route inevitably will end up at the slow end of the field because no runner in their right mind is going to pay an arm and a leg to run a half marathon and then not even get the time recorded to their own name!

    Morning everyone

Been a funny week, after last Sunday's great run I did the speedwork on Tuesday then late nights caught up with me so I didn't run again til Friday evening when I did my 10 miles. This morning I had planned to do 13 miles but then decided to rediscover what it's like to have a leisurely Sunday (therefore, special) breakfast and run this evening

However, have now discovered that athletics are on again at 5pm this evening. Can't miss that can I, so I'll have to revise my plans and get out the door for 2/2.30pm so I get back in time :D

Rich, I can't believe you shelled out that amount for a 10K. My Eden Project marathon cost that much! You'd better get some unbelievable value out of it for sure :D

Inapickle - Good for you. You'll progress from there and look back amazed at your achievements and how far you've come. It's a lovely feeling, believe me :T

Well I've got music on and morning athletics on the telly. Breakfast is calling and my revised running time approaches, so I'd better crack on.

Good runs everyone and I'll report back later as my route is Balham to Richmond Park and return.

I got my GNR packs through on Saturday. Yes - plural! I've been sent 2 packs with 2 different race numbers. Does that mean I have to run it twice

So the race pack said I should be comfortably able to do 8 miles jogging now.

Oooopsie! I can do 3.5 before I have to stop! Methinks I'd better get my butt round that gym today and put 8 miles onto treadmill and see what happens

Don't get too excited - They are both for zone G. My OH has a Zone B place but he said he's going to stay with me although I'm not sure thats a good idea as he'll be so frustrated with me. He did it last year in 1hr40. At my current pace I'll be lucky to do it under 3 hours :o
