Well done Rich, that's brilliant! :T0

Well done Rich. Whilst you have been good and had a run I have had a fry-up
. My left leg is sore today, due to not being used to the consecutive day running I imagine.
hope you run well over the weekend everyone:staradmin5k - 00:27:46:staradmin 10k - 00:57.03:staradminHalf - 02:01:15:staradmin5M - 00:44:07:staradmin0 -
Thanks guys - much appreciated.:D:D
KYCU - Nothing wrong with the odd fry up. And don't worry one iota about the odd niggle when you've gone into new territory - it's just your body saying 'steady on a bit'!!!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I eat fairly healthy most of the time, that way I dont need to feel guilty about wine & chocolate (not confectionary!!). I just have a fry up now and again so my metabolism doesnt get lazy. The niggle i have now is the one I used to have the day after doing a run so at least it takes two days to get it now and its not as painful. Once I have done my 5k next week I might sit down and find some longer races i can participate in.

Update from yesterday, did the 4miles in around 48mins (in the gym). Not that happy cos my 5k time is usually quicker than that, but that was the 3rd run for me this week and I usually only do 1 so was getting tired. But at least I know I can do it now. I shall try to make it my shortest (and atm, my only) distance.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Tirlittan - Forget about speed while you're trying to build regularity and/or distance of runs. Keep things simple and you'll progress more quickly in the long run. So just concentrate on trying to do 4 mile runs, 3 times per week, and forget everything else.....just relax and enjoy the runs. Just by doing them you will increase strength and speed will improve, but dont try to make it happen if that makes sense.
Well done on getting 3 runs done this week. You may only be able to manage 2 next week while this week's efforts bed down but don't be concerned if thats the case - just let progress happen naturally.:DGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Thanks RichOneday.
I know I shouldn't/and am not really, that bothered about the speed. I've just started running again and know improvements don't happen overnight. I was actually quite chuffed that I managed to run 4miles as I don't think I've ever done more than 5k.
Because other sporting commitments, I don't think I'll do more than 2 runs next week, just can't fit 3 in.Now that I'm back online at home, I can map a run for outside 4mi. Just wanted to check I could do one first.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
I've been on mapmyrun.com and mapped myself out a couple of routes, one 5k for the week and one 13k for the weekend. I brisked walked most of the way but ran or followed a young fellow male jogger for three quarters of a mile. I found following a pace so much easier than trying to determine my own speed. Probably freaked out the male jogger having a panting, overweight, middle aged woman follow him.0

Sat13/6 Parkrun Leeds Hyde Park 5K 18:53 (6:05/mile)(Posn 6th/173) [72.95%] (http://www.parkrun.com/Default.aspx?tabid=257)
Well, well, well!:D:D
After abandoning Thursday's run I knew that a kickback was on it's way but what I didn't expect was for it to start to appear as early as today.
So very surprised to achieve the fastest 5K so far at 18:53 (equivalent to 17:47 for a 29 year old apparently!) and to do it on the hilly Leeds course (previous best - last week's 19:18) is even better. On top of which it is also the highest WAVA rating so far at 72.95% and the highest finishing position at 6th (previous best 9th).
It is all the sweeter when you're not expecting it - its fair to say that I'm buzzing at the moment!:p:D:D:D
Good luck with all the weekend's efforts everyone.:D
Fantastic running Rich - well done:D That WAVA is creeping up very steadily :T
