I can do 3miles so why not challenge myself for the first time to do more than that.:)
Thanks for link, found one near me, but we'll see...I just like running for myself.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Fair enough - its good fun though - I do Wimbledon and Leeds and am hopefully trying out Manchester next weekend0

You sound like a very keen runner!
Well, off I am, to do it slow and steady...in the gym, where I'll know exactly how fast I'm running and how many metres I still have to do...
Will update you tomorrow if my new wireless usb dongle works...
But yes, running outside is much better.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

Well I've been off for 6 weeks so I am VERY keen to get started again
Good luck with your run :T0 -
Ooooo nice one Simply
Nearly sub 1hr too - when's the next 10k race?? I bet you are itching to have a go
Thanks Becky; I haven't got another 10k lined up. I've been looking but the majority of them fall on Sundays and I don't want to give up any of my long runs. (I'm afraid that if I miss them I won't be ready for Abingdon).
I've got a 1/2 Marathon booked for 2 August so that isn't too far away. You're right though I'd love to have another go at a 10kHmmm, think I might go away and have another look ... I seem to remember seeing something about a midweek 10k????

Have you got very itchy feet Beck, it must have been very frustrating. Glad you're feeling better x0

Hi all,
I'm really pleased with my progress in running but I am having real problems in pacing myself. Any suggestions on what to do to maintain a steady pace rather than a fast, slow, fast, slow routine?

I'm okay guys - feeling a little drowsy today but fine otherwise
floxxie - hey you're fartlek, but any idea might be to map out mile markers on mapmyrun.com on your usual routes and then set yourself a nice easy time to get to each one. So for the sake of example:
mile 1 - 10 minutes
mile 2 - at 20 minutes
mile 3 - at 30 minutes
etc
Obviously if you're a bit off it doesnt matter - all the things ebb and flow but it should help you to evenly pace throughout the run a bit more0 -
Evening all. Happy weekend
I really want my official time now though   I'm not good at waiting obviously!0 -
Its been a little bit busy on here today - good to see!
Just found 1 picture from Wednesday's race - I'm hoping that the blurriness is something to do with the speed I was running at rather than the shutter speed of the camera!:p:p
As can be seen, the running surface was great and obviously traffic free so a good venue for a 10K race.:D
I like the size of the gap - you are not really aware of what's going on behind you in a race but at this point this was 14th position and I'd been back in 27th earlier in the race. I think it was Scorgeous who was asking this morning about how to pace the race, well this was just into the last third where you unleash everything you have left.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
