What a great Idea, can I join please? I ran my first half-marathon last oct in 2hrs 15mins- I am not a fast runner, and really find it an effort to make myself go out and run- so being the sensible person I am!!!! decided to sign up for a marathon this Oct- I am just about sticking to a training plan. Advice and support would be great. Don't suppose anyone else is doing that spires and steeples marathon- or has done it before?

Whats happened to you? Simple - you've caught the bug!:D:D

Nothing wrong with a tough 10K every now and again!:D

Ah, I think it's a bit too tough for a first one. I ended the Portsoy 10K in tears, ducking up a side road and avoiding the finish line! Think I'll hold out for a few weeks more - if the addiction will allow it!

Is there any website I can map routes on? Or do I need to take my bike out at lunch time and work out lunch hour distances? Oh God, this is taking over!

I've only done that one 10k - seems I am doing another tough one - one day I'll find a nice flat one for a lovely pb time :p

Welcome tq16 - never heard of that mara - where is it?? Keep going with the training plan - consistency is the key to real long term results :D

I got up at 6:30 and started at 9:30 today (was actually here about ten to 9 but had to shower and eat etc) :D:D

I usually start at 8:30 and finish early to run - but I've remembered this week why I like running in the mornings - its quieter and cooler :D

Cooler helps so much! I was tirder last night, and it was hot - makes so much difference.

I'm changing jobs - within the company, but have the whole of August off inbetween - woo hoo! So I think mornings will be my thing for a bit. So looking forward to having the time to commit.

My shins ache a bit today, to be expected I guess?
