Got out last night and did 6.3 miles in 59.57 mins!!!!

I felt good and decided to try the route out. There is a big jump from 4.5 to 6.3 but it was a great evening for running the only thing was the head wind home bound direct in my face !!

Another thing I found is previous to last nights run I always tried to breathe in through my nose and out through my mouth!! I was reading somewhere yesterday that the proper way to breathe is in & out through your mouth. I tried this last night (took a while to get used to it) but it seamed to work in terms of no stitches and feeling fitter!!

Anyone any thoughts or tips about breathing correctly?

I can't breath in through my nose when I'm running either.
I time my breaths with my steps.
breath in for 2 steps, out for 3, get into a rhythm and it really works

.... except I swallowed a small fly when I was running on Monday!!!! :o

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    Where's Beer Tins this morning?

Getting a Thai full body massage perhaps in preparation for tonight?:p

I've got to say that the course is ingrained in my psyche after doing 8 laps of the park on each of the 21 milers - and the course for tonight is fast although a little twisty for so many runners.

So what's the target BT? About 27 minutes? You should average slightly faster than at Wimbledon I would imagine, even though it is a longer race, due to the better underfoot conditions.

    Morning all!

I'm really busy at work, just a week and a half left to go. I've got a lot to document and hand over. Want to leave on good terms!

27 minutes is the target tonight. Like you say, it's better conditions underfoot. Then again, it could be turned into a mud bath?! A lot will depend on the crowd too. Some people who have run it before reckon they lost at least a minute or two due to not being able to get past people!

Oh and if anyone's about in London on Sunday...

Catherine Ndereba and possibly Stefano Baldini are running the British 10k - could be good to watch - some fast times usually :D
