Have you had any news from the call centre, yet?0

Funnily enough I just got hold of them, apparently the 2 people who took the initial application didnt take down what my partner does for a living (or not) so just had to tell them she's self employed but hasn't made any profit (and in fact has made a loss the past 2 years)
So fingers crossed that is all it was and she did say they were now processing the claim so fingers crossed...
Thanks for everyone contributions0 -

Had to phone the DWP again this morning as, two weeks and another signing-on later, still no automated payment. This time they were expecting my call :rotfl: and promise a giro to go in the post today. What on earth can be so problematic with my claim? Does the spelling of my name produce some weird algorithm on their system that stops automated processing? :rotfl: It'd be funny if it wasn't so damn annoying!

No because we are very rural with our village being 60% owned by second home owners the and because villages are a couple of miles apart by 60mph roads there is only one local shop and they don't deliver.
As for £3 every fortnight well if you think you can get a bus and then a train for that then go ahead people seem to really think that public transport is available what about people that get a bus twice a week, honestly some people need to realise we don't all live in london
But you said yourself the bus is £3 return and departs hourly... That's where we got that figure from?!They expect me to keep signing on but when the job centre is 12 miles each way the bus costs £3 return and is only hourly each way and I am now getting to the point of not being able to afford petrol/insurance to sign on.0 -
Sorry I should have been clearer the bus goes part way there but doesnt go all the way through you then have to change and get the train as well and then you have a 15 min walk at the other end as well, my bad thought I had mentioned that.
As for self employed she does on average about 16 hours a week give or take this is mostly on speculative work or work on the "freebie" websites she does (local village one and preschool)
It doesnt change the fact I still HAVE to pay for car insurance and all the other stuff because if I don't I won't get a job nor will we be able to get to the shops not to mention you can't just stop paying car insurance once you've signed up for 12 months anyway AND we don't have anywhere private to put the car so we'd be in trouble if anything happened.
Anyway thanks for all once again, hopefully it should be sorted any day now, fingers crossed, Tigs if you get something inside 2 weeks you'll be lucky LOL0 -
I finished work on 5/5, had my initial interview on about 19/5 and first signed on 22/5.
I got 82.68 on 29/5, being a week and 2/7ths after taking into account the "waiting" days.
So far so good!!
My next sign day was 5/6 and I told the person at the JC I was off to the Irish Republic the next day for a week so, she said, I'd have to sign off and do a rapid reclaim on my return.
This is where the **** has hit the fan.
I rang on the monday morning and, after several calls, eventually got an interview for the wednesday 17/6. Went to that and was asured all was now ok.
Signing day was still to be friday, so I went on 19/6 and was again reassured all was fine, but I have still had nothing more since the cash on 29/5.
I think it's all a conspiracy to stop people claiming and being in the figures - I too have to spend £3.50 return on a bus to get in to town.0 -
We've been promised some money from the OH's mum to go camping this summer as we have all the gear so i've planned the camping trip around signing on weeks it'll only be for 5 days or so got to do something or I will lose my marbles being at home all day
BEFORE anyone jumps down my throat like I said we've been promised some money (which they dont have at the moment as it's an inheritance) it's not OUR money as we don't have any our savings (what little we had) are long gone already.
Anyway I got a result from the council after my VERY snotty email to them after they threatened us with bailiffs over missing ONE C.tax payment even tho they can see a claim is in process. They called JC up and found out about the delays (they claim they didnt know what a total CROCK!) so they've agreed to BO and they also said that the JC is now processing my claim so should be sorted any day now - PHEW!!0 -
ask for an interim pymt, if your claim is taking so long it could be with the clerical (DEX) team, ask, your due your money 3 days after signing.0
