Thanks for your post Ali - think I'm in a mellow mood today
I do understand the staffing crises & pressure that the DWP is under. It just makes you really frustrated when you're out of work, having trouble finding work, keep getting no response to applications etc, and then you get no response from the DWP either
General Comment Time. When signing on, I entered into a "Job Seeker's Agreement" with the DWP. I agreed to look for work. What was their side of the agreement? I'm under the impression it was to process my request for financial help and, if I was eligible, give me benefit payments. I have to look for work every day, and prove this fortnightly. I wonder, if I am correct about their "half" of the agreement, what the agreed timescales for processing are?:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

Your post has been reported, I will not have abusive posts spread around these forums in this manner, if you have nothing constructive to add I suggest you keep such disgusting opinions to yourself.
Anymore of this kind of abuse will result in a ban on the forum.
Are you going to condemn Stan's posts where he slags off DWP staff as being muppets, monkeys etc ?
Or do you just drive down a one way street ?0 -

Anyway back to the actual problem...
OP, I know it's not a very good solution at all, but are there any newspaper rounds or something near by you could do?
Yes I know it's not 'proper' work (I can almost hearing the clambering of people reaching for their keyboards) but surely anything is better than no money seeing as JSA etc. are being particularly slow in coming.
Does anyone know what would happen if, as threatened, baliffs come round (although fingers crossed the call will be them getting it all sorted out) and then the whole fiasco is sorted and HB/ CTB are paid?
Good luck OP, I hope the call is some very good news

No because we are very rural with our village being 60% owned by second home owners the and because villages are a couple of miles apart by 60mph roads there is only one local shop and they don't deliver.
As for £3 every fortnight well if you think you can get a bus and then a train for that then go ahead people seem to really think that public transport is available what about people that get a bus twice a week, honestly some people need to realise we don't all live in london0 -

They would pay for your course and give you a £500 grant (don't have to pay it back) for study material and travel costs to tutorials. One of my neighbour's adult children, also got the broadband paid for and a laptop bought for her. You do need to finish the course though or be liable to pay it back. You might even continue your study, get a degree and improve your job prospects?
Ooooh will look into that, I am in the process of setting up my own company so i'm not sitting on my backside whining about not having a job etc it just takes time to get it right etc0
