Aw, I'm glad Steve's answer made you smile Donnie.

It didn't make me smile cos I'm paying for a 2MB package and getting a 512K product! My fault that I haven't looked into it earlier, though I will be now!

Thanks for your reply Samara. Looks like you're about to get a new customer once I get my code sorted out.

My Madasafish account was activated earlier in the week, but for some reason I only seem to be able to connect at certain times of the day. It works fine first thing in the morning, up to about 4pm, but if I try to connect in the evenings the router can't establish a connection. Spent ages on the phone to tech support who tell me it's a BT problem and they've logged it with them. But I suspect what's happened is they've taken on too many new subscribers and their bandwidth can't cope at peak times.

Anyone else having this kind of problem?
  • Hi Richiethekid,

Could you please PM me your Madasafish username and I'll investigate for you.

We've recently bought a new pipe and we have plenty of spare bandwidth capacity.

From the statement "It works fine first thing in the morning, up to about 4pm, but if I try to connect in the evenings the router can't establish a connection" it sounds like a problem with the BT exchange or your phone line.

    Thank you

    Kind regards,
    Samara

    Hey Flutterby

I've been on Madasafish broadband since last June and it's been fine.
They've certainly got one up on the competition by having someone here to answer questions if needed.
  • Hi Madasafishperson

I am just about to move to a rented house, and it is in dire need of BB (or, rather, I am). Now I use the Internet as a Home Office and therefore do quite a bit of web-browsing, some VOIP calling (2-3 hrs per day max), but am not one of these mega-downloaders (music, movies etc.). I think the 5Gb per month would suit, but the question is: what happens if I go over 5Gb? What are the charges for this?

Also, I have all my own kit, I just need connection - do I save anything by not needing any hardware?

Oh, and when is the earliest I can inform you of the line change (I am taking possession of the property on Thursday, but should be registered with BT by Tuesday).

    Please advise!

    Thanks

    Samara,

I have no connection at all so have to revert to dial up!!!

Tried calling and just got a message saying there were issues which were being worked on. I tried waiting on hold to speak to someone - 12 minutes later I hung up.....................

Any ideas whats going on and when service will be back on?

Did you 3 last postees sign up for the upgrade? Could it be anything to do with that? It was advertised that there could be fluctuations in service
