Please could you tell me if this router will be compatible:

Compatible yes but have you read the reviews here? Do you particularly want or need a 'speedboost' product? Don't MAAF do one for £25?

Thank you esspresso. Reconditioned linksys routers like that are on a big discount at the mo, but I will take your advice and avoid it.
The reasons I don't want the madasafish router is:
1. I might move within the 12 month period and therefore have to pay them the full price for their router if I were to switch networks. So while a madasafish router is a good deal at the discount price for those happy to be tied in to the network, I don't want to be in a position of having to pay full price for a router I cannot use on another network.
2. Price of madasafish router is 50 discounted to 25 ish. Then presumably to use with a PC you have to have a 25£ wireless dongle as well (or do modern PCs have inbuilt wireless?) Netgear does a router with a dongle included for about £80 at PCWorld.0 -

1. I don't see why you think that it won't work on another network if you were to move providers. It is not locked to MAAF, like the Orange Livebox or the BT wireless thingies.
2. You can buy wireless devices for your PC for a lot less than £25. All that matters is that they conform to the 802.11b/g standard.

Hello All
Could any other madasafish users confirm if they are having problems downloading attachments from madasafish webmail.
In the last week or so I have been unable to download any attachments from the webmail, when I try to download an attachment a Microsoft Internet Explorer box? appears which says:
Internet Explorer cannot download ...... from webmail.madasafish.com
Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.
Not sure if its me or a madasafish problem but have forwarded any emails from my madasafish webmail with attachments to my Yahoo email account and have been able to open them without any problems.
Thanks.0 -
Have taken PC back upstairs as well over 3 days. Still goes up and down which is no good for me when I am paying for a decent connection that should be consistent. I ran a test a whileback and it said 2.48 then 2.23 and now 2.38. The last 2 tests done withing a couple of minuites of each other.

Thank you espresso.
I didn't realise that the madas router is not locked - definitely makes it more appealing.
If to use wireless in the garden, would I be better off getting a Netgear Rangemax? [They claim to increase coverage by 10x.]0 -

I have no experience with a Netgear Rangemax but personally have never had any problems when using wireless in various different situations. It obviously depends on many different things like where you situate the router and the construction of the property but remember that once the signal is outside there is little to attenuate it. You could always add a cheap wireless access point to extend coverage to a particular area if necessary but I can see other local networks here. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I am fed up with this. I seem to get my speed going up and down all the time. Its not even up to 2 MB most of the time. As I said before, there is no reason this should be happening as my old provider never gave me any trouble.
I feel like its money down the drain and if nothing is going to change I want to end my contract.0
