    Hello All

Could any other madasafish users confirm if they are having problems downloading attachments from madasafish webmail.

In the last week or so I have been unable to download any attachments from the webmail, when I try to download an attachment a Microsoft Internet Explorer box? appears which says:

Internet Explorer cannot download ...... from webmail.madasafish.com

Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.

Not sure if its me or a madasafish problem but have forwarded any emails from my madasafish webmail with attachments to my Yahoo email account and have been able to open them without any problems.

    Thanks :o)
  • This is ridiculous. Yesterday, upon the advise of a very nice customer service technition I ran a speed test. It read 2.35 MB. Today I run the test and it reads a mere 0.13 and doesn't seem to be any faster. It's like dial up.

I feel this is not good enough as I rely on broadband for music streaming as I am a musician. Now I am paying for premium Broadband at the quality and speed of dial up. Tis is very frustrating. Has anyone else experienced this?

  • Hi Hubballi,

Just wanted to let you know that I'll look into this first thing tomorrow morning when I'm back in the office.

Speeds up to 8Mb are a lot more sensitive then speeds up to 2Mb. We'll continue to troubleshoot and do our best to get you on more stable speeds.

I'm pretty sure that you've already read this but if anyone else is having trouble with getting consistent speeds please read this article which will guide you through some basic troubleshooting for speeds up to 8Mb.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

  • Thanks Samara. I appreciate that. It's nice to have good customer service.

  • Hi Samara,

I am thinking about getting broadband and madafish seems to offer the best deal. What I am worried about is the connection speed. I ran the test on the website and it said I could get speed up to 1.5Mb or greater. This is fine but I'm worried that I could sign up and get consistently slower speeds than that. What are the chance of this and if it happens what can I do about it?

One other thing, I am interested in getting a wireless router as I don't have a phone socket in the room my PC is in. How does this work and do I have to buy both the £25 router and the £25 adapter?
  • Hello Danielgodden,

We do our best to achieve the speeds that we quote for a telephone line. Speeds up to 8Mb are more temperamental than speeds up to 2Mb - thus initiall you may find you require troubleshooting to really maximise your speeds. The majority of our customers have not required troubleshooting whilst making this transistion, however we have seen a rise since the time we were offering speeds up to 2Mb. If you do get slower speeds than what you expected, please get in touch with me and we'll go through the troubleshooting process.

If your computer is not wireless enabled than you would require the £25 adapter - if you've got a laptop, most newer ones are already enabled for wireless capabilities.

Please do keep posting or PM me should you have any further queries.

    Kind regards,
    Samara

  • I can't fault the customer service as I was contacted again today, thanks to Samara. I was told that I should try something, which I have and I am still at dial up speed 0.13 MB. I have also been told that I should move my PC downstairs for about 2 days so it can be plugged straight into the BT socket, ommiting the extention cable. This is a real pain as its very inconvenient as my music studio is upstairs and I really need it there.

I will try this but why have I had no trouble with my other broadband provider using the exct same set up? I also feel that because it's no fault of mine I at least should have a reduction in my monthly fee for the days I am not getting the service I am paying for.

I am quite depressed with it and wish I had never changed. The only good thing I can say up to now is the customer service is excellent, but not the product. Because I was told I need a router after I had signed up, it was still free but I had to pay a £10 admin fee. Again, I feel it's a bit unfair.

  • Hi Hubballi,

The speeds up to 8Mb are a lot more sensitive to internal wiring than the former speeds of up to 2Mb. If there is a problem with your internal wiring we can properly diagnose it if you connect from the test socket from within the master socket and stay connected there for three days. If in three days your speeds improve we'll know it's your internal wiring.

If you do find that you get better results from the master socket then the extension we could look at the wireless router options available to you. Alternatively you could also get a very long Ethernet cable and still keep your music studio upstairs.

I'll continue monitoring the situation - please hang in there!

    Kind regards,
    Samara
