Samara,
Can I ask about your new phone package coming soon?
Is there a tie-in period and would 1899 numbers be blocked?0 -
Hi Sloughflint,
I'm afraid that I haven’t been given all the info about the new phone packages yet – so I’m not yet able to answer your question. I’ll try and chase it up and get you an answer as soon as I can.
I do know that it will be a monthly rolling contract, thirty days notice for cancellation.
Looking at the emails that we’ve received into our support centre, I would like to confirm that all the prices on our website include VAT. Thus the £9.99 line rental is just £9.99 – VAT has been added!
I do know that the team who are putting together the package are doing their best to make Madasafish Talk very competitive and I’m personally looking forward to getting the complete product specs myself!
Kind regards,

It certainly sounds promising and if ever 1899 was blocked, it's only 30 days to wait to try somewhere else.
Looking forward to it. Any idea on timescale?0 -
Well - I'm hoping that we'll be able to get information out in the next couple of weeks. Registering your interest on the website will not tie you into anything, but it will mean that you'll get all the info emailed to you when it's made available.
Kind regards,

Hi. Can I ask how I would sign up for the broadband internet as a new user if I didn't have access to the internet, (assuming the BT line was up and running) and roughly how long would it take?
Thanks in advance"Peter Pan is 2. Shirley Bassey is 3. Dr Ian Paisley is 4. King Lear is 5. Why?"
"...also known as taking in the Spanish Cub Scout leader. (Cryptic) (5)"
Thanks to MSE, I've seen Citizen Kane, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Serenity for FREE!0 -
Hi Colxfile,
If a BT line was up and running then it usually takes us up to 7 days to install the service. This is provided that there aren't any problems with the line or incompatible products installed on it!
You can always sign up online via a friend's Internet connection (you don't have to sign up from the location that you wish to have the service installed at). Also, you can call us on 0844 395 0830 and one of my team can sign you up. They'll ask you for the following information:
1. Phone number (if you haven't got a referral code to use use the promotion code CHEAPER if you're signing up for MAX Broadband - this will get you £1 off a month for the first year of service).
2. Package that you would like to sign up for & hardware requirements (they can explain these in detail)
3. You'll need to select a username. Your username will become part of your Madasafish email address: username@madasafish.com.
4. Personal Details (name, address, etc)
5. Finally they'll take payment details. The way that payment works is that you are charged for your first month's subscription when you sign up. The billing works in that the billing period doesn't start until your services go live. Thus you aren't actually paying for the time that you didn't have the broadband service.
Please do PM me or post again should you require any further information and I will be happy to help!
Kind regards,

A quick note to say thanks to the MAAF team! Ordered the broadband a week ago, got an e-mail to say it was connected yesterday morning, and got everything connected up myself this morning! Bit slow at the moment with several disconnections (up to a minute or so), but I guess this is just the "bedding in" period.0

Hi OxJak,
Thanks for choosing us!
When you first get speeds up to 8Mb, there is a 10 day 'testing' period where we're monitoring your line to figure out what the fastest stable speed is that your line can carry. During this 10 day period you may get slower speeds than expect or even intermittent disconnections. However, when you're outside of that period all those issues should cease! If they don't please PM me and I will look into it!
Also - one of the most common causes of disconnections may be completely unrelated to the testing period - microfilters! Please make sure that you have a microfilter fitted to every phone socket that is in use in your house - make sure to include the phone sockets that are being used for SKY TV boxes and FAX machines!
Please keep in touch if I can be of assistance!
Kind regards,

I've put microfilters on both the phones in the house, but there are actually problems with the phone sockets (new house, weren't wired up properly ). The modem is on the master socket and hopefully we should get the rest of them properly done tomorrow morning. Is there a way to "reset" the testing period?0
