I received a call earlier in the week from MAAF asking about what BT said during their visit. So it looks as though I'll have to accept the lower speeds and the unexplained drop in the "quality of the BT line".
Still not had a simple or logical explanation as to why it was fine for 5 months then suddenly the line "quality" reduced??
Sorry but I still suspect BT (or MAAF) are not being fully transparent about something which has caused or is causing the reduction. It's fallen even further over the past 3 days as can be seen from the figures.0 -
Hi Oldagetraveller,
Changes to the sync rate can be due to several factors from internal wiring which we can try and troubleshoot - to things that are totally outside of our control such as electrical interference caused by a company 4 streets away getting new lines installed or your neighbours Christmas lights going up.
What we can do is raise a fault asking BT Wholesale to change the SNR level to a target of 6 Db and then see if the line is able to hold the SNR. Please do let me know if you would like for me to proceed with that request.
Kind regards,
SamaraMadasafish Customer Care0 -
Internal wiring ruled out, it's disconnected by removal of the master socket cover and my router is connected directly to the test socket as it has been for 4 weeks.
Christmas lights were not up in September when all this started to happen. There are non in the immediate vicinity.
I live in a small village and I can definitely see there are no works progressing anywhere.
I've also checked with two of my neighbours connected to the same pole and they are getting over 4Mb/s. So by some not too clever elimination the problem must be between the pole and my master socket??
I have checked on "Samknows" and that site states that BT Wholesale advise that my line is capable of supporting 4500kb/s or greater. So why doesn't it? Are they and BT Wholesale incorrect?
This just reinforces the case that consumers are being misled with fictional figures and finding the reality is totally different.
The SNR dropped to 5db yesterday with synch. remaining at 3328. Back up to 9 this morning and 3328??0 -
Hi Samara. Well its finally happened. Talktalk have installed their own gear in my local exchange so I am now able to get Broadband and all land line calls from them including line rental for just under £22 a month.
Since I have been very happy with the broadband speeds and the customer service I have got off madasafish I would like to stay with you but am afraid that unless you can offer me something similar I am going to have to move.
If you can't I find it very odd especially since you are now owned by BT. I would think that BT would be able to match talktalks pricing to keep customers. If you can't I would be very interested to know why.
Thanks in advanceStarting MB- looking for Raf offers.

Hi Samara,
On the 7th December, I sent you a PM expressing sentiments similar to those of Tabath above.
It was titled One month to go - Happy anniversary?
Did you miss it? I could send it again or post it here.
Best wishes
Harry.

Hi Samarra
I am meant to be recording my speed 3 times a day for madasafish support, but I am having tremendous difficulties logging into my account, and it is no longer saving my previous speed tests. Is it something I am doing wrong. It is giving a time out message on the log in page
Thanks0 -
Yes Samara, I have noticed speeds are not registering too, haven't since around the 9/12/2007. I also timed out rapidly too from "MyAccount, can you Please investigate both problems, Thanks in advance
ps: The SpeedTester is not registering my speeds and....
Sending a current Invoice to default mailbox is failing too!!
BT then Plusnet......changes seems to be causing uncommon problems, or are they? Wonder whats next.........?

Hi Guys,
I apologise for the time out issue, and speed test results, in My Account at the moment - I've currently got a ticket open to have this fixed.
Harryhound - let me check through my PMs again! Sorry if I missed you!
Kind regards
