We live in Burgess Hill and used Mayfair granite who are based in Bradford. They cover the whole country. They did a great job. Not the cheapest but the stock they had was certainly better than a more local one based near Gatwick.

Mayfair sent a guy down to measure up and template and then had the same guy come and do the installation.

I've been plugging these guys since about page 3, they have done 3 jobs for us and all where, and still are fantastic.

But I found they were the cheapest if you discount the ebay clowns.
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

    hi,
just had some granite worktop fitted today and i have noticed 3 marks/small chips in the granite. I have spoken to the company after they fitters left and they have said they will send out somebody who could repair the chips. is that normal? The guy i spoke to said that granite is a natural product and to expect small defects.

Given your location and MSe rating your post has to be dissmissied, regardless of it's intention. Greek prices are local, and not relevant to a Uk site, sorry

You are right, Alan has long gone, the beurocrats saw to that

You will chip the tops at some point in the next year or so, use there visit to either ensure you know how to fix these issues, OR, if they owe you, get a few free reairs chucked in.

  • Hi we are in the process of choosing a new kitchen. Worktop choice is proving to be quite difficult. We love wood & granite. We are now shying away from wood around our sink area which also includes the hob & built in oven because of horror stories. This area is U shaped, quite small. I have heard horror stories about marble being porous & staining. What is the truth in that. Do all granites need to be sealed. We will be getting our kitchen from either Wickes or Magnet. Magnet have a granite called Tan Brown. Is that their name or is it a generic name. Does anyone know anything about the quality of this granite?
  • I mean granite not marble sorry

If you're buying your kitchen from Magnets or Wickes in their "Sale" you may want to read this article first.

  • Ah yes, thanks for that. We started our design plan in November and we are doing a comparison when the final design is finished. But yes got to keep that in mind. :)
