Granite Worktops - Truth, Lies and misinformation

We have these granite worktops in our kitchen, fitted about 5 years ago, and they're fantastic. They're not the shiny polished type but have a "rough / textured" look, so as you run your hand over them they're slightly bumpy, if that makes sense. So...
I had a plastic container with some white spirit and the remnants of cleaned white-paint paintbrushes in it. This got knocked over on the tops last week and has left them stained. What can I use to clean them up?0 -
[QUOTE...For a cost effective solution am I going to need a join in the granite or will it be possible to come up with a piece a bit over 3 metres?[/QUOTE]
I needed a worktop length of slightly over 3m - the granite company managed to source this in the colour I wanted. It did take several strong chaps to manoeuvre into the house though.0 -

Hello
We have received a quote for 'Ice White' quartz and wondered how it looks. We are in SW London.
However, now I have received the sample I don't like it - the fleck is too small and it doesn't have any sparkle. Can anyone recommend a cost effective white sparkly quartz please? I have been looking at Cimstone Lapland, Compaq Snow or Luna, Caeserstone White Reflections and Silestone Bianco Stellar but haven't had samples yet so it's hard to tell how sparkly they are.

Labrador Antique granite - just had this fitted and the day after noticed that the whole of worktop (and there's a lot of it!) is covered in pit marks, perhaps up to 2mm deep. Won't mention the company at this time, but, eventually, managed to arrange for someone to attend in couple opf days times to look at it. They told me that because this particular granite has so many colours/veins in it is it more likely to have impurities. (or similar words to that effect) implying I believe, that they may not change it. This was never explained at any time to me. It looks like it basically hasn't been polished properly. Has anyone else heard/experienced these sort of marks or any issues with Labrador Antique granite. I obviously await what the chap will say when he turns up.0

What do you think of vance millers strategy of just buying an entire chinese quarry to get consistency after being ripped off by a chinese supplier.0

Hello,
Did anyone use those companies?
http://granitezone.co.uk/
http://www.granite-workshop.co.uk/
Even though I'm based in Cardiff and they're MILES away, their quote was far less than the ones nearby.
Would be really appreciated if anyone can recommend granite or quartz companies in my area. I'd guess even towards Bristol / Swindon / Gloucester / Gloucester / Swansea / Carmarthen won't be too far.
Thanks a lot0 -
Hi I have just had a granite worktop installed. The job looks very nice. However, I have noticed the worktop that spans over the dishwasher is not supported by anything. It over hangs the dishwasher by 620mm and there is a 10mm gap between the top and the end panel. Will this be strong enough not to crack over time?0
