  • Looks great jm2926, I've had a quote from Rocca that has come in around £180 cheaper than the next cheapest quote we've had, I take it you'd recommend them happily? Were you happy with everything service wise? What granite I'd that btw, is it nero cosmos? That's one we're looking at.

We visited the showroom a couple of times to ask questions and decide which one to go for. They were very nice, no pressure. Templater was great, lots of checking sizes etc as the end panels weren't on when it was being measured. Fitters were very nice, don't think I've been called mrs jm so many times. It's star galaxy, but the flecks are quite small, not as in your face as many suppliers have, although more so than the photos show. Still pretty subtle.

Er no, they had one bit of stone for the windowsill in 30mm depth instead of 20mm, meaning it didn't allow the window to lock correctly. All other pieces were correct (3 lengths of worktop with upstands and island). Obviously would have been better if there were no mistakes, but they identified the issue before fitting and rectified it the same day.

Sorry, I was over harsh, I thought it was a mistake with 1 of the main slabs;)

Nice to see a sink with a decent overflow capacity, we found out (luckily with little damage), that ours wasn't capable of taking the full flow of either the hot or cold tap after the combi was changed recently, it had a much greater flow rate.
Not the easiest thing to fix with an undermount sink, but I managed to drill and fit an additional overflow pipe.
Problem now resolved and tap left on shouldn't be a disaster.

It's maybe something others should test???
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

    Hi

Can you tell me what the maximun overhang on a kitchen island can be. We were told that the quartz would be too heavy and may break over a certain length.

The manufacturer is Eglo, but they are discontinued.

Most stone companies will say 300mm unsupported as an overhang is all they will warrant.

There's another issue too, at around 300mm the overhang can de-stabilise the island.
By that I mean there is too much overhanging weight. If someone puts say half there body weight on it, eg, 1 foot when changing light bulb over, or leans heavily, the whole thing can tip:eek:

It depends on the size of the island of course, smaller is the greater risk, but not many of these get fastened down, it's there mass that keeps them in place.;);)

I didn't even think about that. Picked the deeper of the two sinks available at that price point. They were matching internet prices on the sink/tap so happy so far.
  • Would anyone please be able to recommend a company to supply and fit granite worktops in Surrey. We have a quote from a supplier recommended by our builder but are not sure if it is on the high side so prefer to get some additional quotes.

There seem to be a lot of suppliers on eBay who also have their own web sites such as "Reemstone" and "Magmastone". However I am not sure how reliable these type of suppliers are if they are using eBay to harvest potential customers?

    Any advice most appreciated.
