  • You could be correct - although I didn't VAT for the wooden floor and we had already completed on the sale.

Anyway, that's slightly off topic. Will pay the VAT if i have to.

    Anyone have any recommendations?

Granite worktops, upstands and sill fitted today. Looks amazing, service was excellent. Slight issue with sill wrong thickness and they had it remade correctly and fitted same day.
  • I've just read this whole thread from start to finish & would like to thank all who contributed to the knowledge contained.
I now have a far better idea of what to look for & how to go about choosing a supplier - though finding one in West Cumbria might be difficult...

Er no, they had one bit of stone for the windowsill in 30mm depth instead of 20mm, meaning it didn't allow the window to lock correctly. All other pieces were correct (3 lengths of worktop with upstands and island). Obviously would have been better if there were no mistakes, but they identified the issue before fitting and rectified it the same day.
